There are work-arounds.
For charging, use a big rubber band to hold the battery on the charger. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ion/502874-so-510-threads-my-twist-toast.html
For use with cartos and clearos, get an eGo to eGo adapter. DO NOT USE FOR CHARGING! EGO to EGO 510 Atomizer Adapter : L Js E-Smokes, Electronic Cigarettes
When the threads went bad on one of my eGos, I tried tapping the threads with this , but alas, it did not work.

SB,
Hmmm. I wondered about the tap you linked to as well. I'm guessing that's for the 510 (inside threading) iow, could be used on just a 510 batt as well, right? Or supposed to if it worked.....![]()
There's probably a thread on the threading of batts but I'm wondering if you've ever seen the pitch, etc. for the eGo threading? Not for the batt but for the Kanger 'connector base' for the T3S. My experience with them have been spotty. In a pack of 10, maybe 6 or 7 of them work and even some of those, I'll take an old dead eGo and force feed them onto the batt - gently as I can, but sometimes with more force than I'd use on a good battAnd that does help, but the other 3 or 4 won't even start the threading. Wondered if you've seen that anywhere else around ECF. I don't wander around that much anymore

Or maybe just the pitch and 'which hand threading' needed for the eGo threads (inside of course). Hope that was clear enough lol.....
If you don't know I'll do a search but thought you might know since you went that way once.
eGo threading is 12mm x .5mm 12mm x .5 High Speed Steel Plug Tap: Hand Threading Taps: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific
BTW - If a Blind ID Thread is Truly Stripped, running a Tap thru it Doesn't Really do much. Because a Tap can Only Remove Material if Material Is Present.
If the Thread has bern Slightly Cross-Threaded, or is "Gummed Up", yeah... a Tap may Help. But on Stripped Thread, it Probably wont.
