Strong taste of nicotine in 3mg/ml?

Ive always vaped juices with 3mg Nic and have never been bothered by the taste of it. Now, a couple of weeks ago i quit smoking cigarettes and picked up my vapes again and orderes some new juices as well.

the problem is I get a strong and "peppery" taste of the nicotine and it feel like im vaping like 9mg juices. It really bothers me since I dont get the most flavour out of my juices.

Has someone experienced the same thing? what is going on? i bought 4 differens e-juices and there regular nic in 2 of them and salt nic-shots (for shortfills) in the other 2. they all taste the same in regards to that awful taste.

lets face it, im addicted to nicotine. i will eventually start vaping 0mg but if i do that right now, im afraid i will go back to the cancer-sticks :(

I only ever get the peppery taste (well not really a taste but more like just the feeling of black pepper, not the actual taste) when I vape after I eat something (and sometimes after I drink something depending on what it is).

It bothered me at first, but now, years later, I got used to it and expect it after a meal or snack.

And no, it has nothing to do with COVID-19 lol

I just thought if 80% of all covid-19 patients have some type of loss of smell and taste, it would apply to E-juices as well. But it would definately not be the first time im wrong haha.. Five things to know about smell and taste loss in COVID-19 | Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information for Employees and Patients

I will definately try and see if i notice any differens between vaping after eating and not. I´ve been vaping for 5 years on and off but ive always smoked cigarettes as well. its only now when I stopped smoking I have noticed this feeling or sensation when vaping. Its like vaping a high Nic e-juice.

well, maybe it will dissapear, otherwise i have to put up with it until i start vaping nic free juices :) thanks for the reply!

But you're not suffering a "loss" of taste. You are experiencing a new taste/feeling. Anyway, I don't want to turn this into a covid-19 thread. Rest assured that if you have Covid-19, it has nothing to do with this peppery taste/feeling you are getting from nic base. It's very common.

You may want to do some searching on the forum to see if there is a solution to remove this peppery taste/feeling. I never bothered because I got used to it. But maybe there is a solution. This forum has been here since 2007 (wow hard to believe) so if there is a solution to this I bet it's here somewhere. But you have to search for it.

I can see that I focused on loss of taste. I should have reffered to all the people that report that their favourite food tastes bad after beeing ill or their usual brand of coffe suddenly tastes scorched and so on. There seems to be a change (not just lost) in the taste of food and drinks. my bad.

I know this is a common thing among vapers as you describe. The strange thing to me was that this has never happened before so why does vaping taste different now than the last 5 years ive been doing it? I got juices that ive had before, same RDA, same strenght on the nicotine, all different types of wire...nothing has changed. But Its no secret that you get a more sensitive pallet and can taste more flavours better when you stop smoking cigarettes. So my best guess is thats the explenation, not covid.

I've noticed some nic is cleaner then others in regard to the residual flavor. Also, salt nic isn't all created the same.

I´ll definately try a different brand next time. Maybe do some research and read some reviews on different types and brands :)

Understand, but DIY isn't for everyone. In fact, the only reason I got into it was because i live in a country controlled by tyrants. Otherwise I'd just keep buying cheap juice from Heartland vapes as I have been for several years.

It's like rolling cigarettes, most smokers just aren't interested. I did for many years, though lol

Knowing the nicotine, pg, vg and flavoring is a benefit. Hate to see the op starting rolling themselves. So if the op wants to DIY that is his or her’s choice. Hate to see going back to smoking over a simple fix. We can help.

"Simple" is subjective and is dictated by many factors according to each individual and their lifestyle (among other factors).

Stuffing cigarettes using filter tubes and a machine is also "simple".

Boiling water is "simple" too. Lots of people can't even do it let alone refuse to lol

    At any rate...

Is this the first time you have been completely off combustible tobacco and only getting nicotine from your vape? Decades ago, I tried to quit smoking (before vapes existed) and went through a period where EVERYTHING I ate or drank tasted burnt or like ashtray. At the time I assumed it was either from my lungs clearing themselves of the smoking debris or my brain playing tricks on me so that I would give it the cigarettes it was craving. If/when I broke down and had a smoke, the bad flavors went away for a while until the brain weasels started acting up again.

When I finally quit smoking with vapes, I was using a higher nic level, fruity flavors and dual using. I accidentally quit smoking when I realized I preferred the flavor of my vape over the cigarettes and was vaping more than smoking.

What flavors of juice are you using, and do you have an option to go with a higher nic level in them? I was using 18mg at the time, but I don't know if that is still available to you where you live now. If you are using short-fills, are you sure you are getting everything mixed together well? Have you tried vaping the 0mg juice to see if it has the same flavor issues that you are noticing after you mixed the nic shots into the flavor? I have tried a couple of tobacco flavored juices that did have a hint of cigarette/nicotine to them, and didn't like them much. For me, the fruits were the secret to my success.
