stuck wiring up the voltage display on vv mod

hi everyone, i wanna know if someone could tell me where the proper connections for a voltage display are supposed to go on a vv board, i wired it up got 2 18650 batts hooked up and on the breadboard im using just put it with the postive and negative first to see what the levels of the 2 stacked batts were and it's reading 8.2, when i dial it down and have an atty connected to it, it won't go below, 7.1, so i'm kinda gettin confused because there's like hardly any vapor coming outta it on that setting, but when i crank it, it's too much, and it seems as though i can't get an in-between level, so i'm figurin i got my wiring wrong for the voltage meter and the diagram from madvapes don't tell ya how to wire one up, just the diagram for the board itself. Can someone clarify the connection positions for the voltage display for me please and thank you.

Either works, as they are basically the same source. This setup gives 4 readings, Batt: static and load, Regulated: static and load, the center position on the on off on switch turns the meter off.
