Hey everyone! One of the biggest benefits I've been looking forward to from quitting smoking has been my nose clearing up. I'm sure I can't be alone on this but my nose has been clogged for pretty much the last 8 years of my life and I'm assuming from smoking lol.

I've been waiting for it to go away but it hasn't yet :(. I passed my one month mark four days ago... How long did it take for any of you guys??

when was smoking, i was coughing up flem every day... i figured that would go away when i started vaping. 6 months after i quit smoking and was only vaping i went to see a doctor about it. he looked inside my nose and throat and found that i have a "nasal drip" that is what was causing the flem the whole time.
My Advice, See a Doctor...

Right there with you. I never had good airways - I had to have my tonsils removed at an early age because they had a habit of swelling and closing off my esophagus. I had bronchitis and strep throat more times than I can remember. Smoking was probably the worst habit I could have picked up; my nose was clogged so bad I could barely get any air through it, and I had constant drainage that made me have to cough or clear my throat about every three minutes. I had to breathe through my mouth at night when I slept, which disrupted my rest and made me prone to getting sick.

In the 10 months or so that I've been vaping, I've been able to breathe easier and have felt better than I have in the last 20 years. It took 2 or 3 months to get to the point it is now, but it was more than worth it.

My sinuses are a mess as evidenced by a CT scan some years ago. Headache has been my middle name since I was a child. My Dr. told me that smoking wasn't helping, which I can certainly understand. I was hoping that a side effect of vaping would be an end to the congestion, but it hasn't been so far. I did almost immediately stop coughing to a significant degree. It's probably too early to tell what the long term effect will be, since I have only been cig-free for a month. I have a feeling I won't be going anywhere anytime soon without a decongestant supply, but I don't mind hardly ever coughing anymore.

I had nasal congestion for years, most noticably at night around bedtime. I also have sleep apnea due to enlarged soft tissues in my nasal/sinus/pharangeal area, causing me to be a mouth breather while I sleep resulting in snoring.

Since I stopped smoking, I no longer get the evening congestion that I once did. I also don't hack up a lung every morning like I did when I was smoking.

If you decrease your PG and go towards more VG with some added Distilled Water it may help. I noticed when vaping 50/50 my sinuses, mouth, lips and throat were pretty doggone dry. When I switched up my mix to a 25PV/75VG with a 5% shot of distilled water it made a huge difference. Even now when I've been vaping a higher PV mix I find that if I switch out to a VG/DW heavy mix for an hour or so it "fixes" things up just right.

Hope this helps!

I basically lived with one nostril always clogged up when I was smoking, but switching to vaping has pretty much cleared that up.
It only took a few days for me, but that is probably because I only smoked about 7 cigarettes per day.

But I have definitely noticed that when I vape more VG I get some sinus clogging.
The more VG the worse it gets, although still never as bad as smoking.

I try to stay around 70/30 PG/VG ratio, but will go as low as 50/50 for a juice that I really like.
I won't vape anything with more than 50% VG though, no matter how much I like it.
