Stupid Riva! What the heck? What is wrong?

So, I had ordered a Riva for my Mom, who has been eagerly awaiting it's arrival all week. First off, let me say that my first order with a certain supplier, for a Joye Ego, was superb. Super fast shipping. So, I ordered the Riva for my mother from the same company, and from the very onset of that order, it was not looking good. I had a couple of questions regarding whether I should have ordered the 901 instead of the 510 with an adaptor ( as my Mom prefers cartomizers and was hoping to use the Ego XL cartos with the Riva ) and after a couple of inconsistent emails between myself and a rep for the company, I still didn't really have any concrete answer. So, finally, the Riva arrived today. It took 8 days. Which was longer than my first order took, but I digress. Anyway, it is the Riva 901. The XL cartos don't fit it in a long shot, and the only cartos that work ( poorly, might I add ) with it are the V2cigs cartos, which she really doesn't wish to use, as she has been filling blank cartos with her favorite juices. So, what are the options as far as the Riva 901? Can I get an adaptor that will allow her to use the XL cartos with the Riva? And why won't the regular cartos work with it? It looks like it is threaded accordingly, so I am confused. I mean, the regular cartos FIT, but not perfectly, and there is no response from the Riva when I press the button. I wish that the company I ordered from would have just sent the Riva 501 instead of totally misunderstanding my question regarding the difference between the two! What should I do here? My poor Mom has been looking forward to this all week, and I feel badly that now she is left disappointed. As much as I love my Ego, I am really thinking of giving mine to her, returning this not-so-great Riva, and ordering another Ego for myself, again. Also, why does the Riva say Hello on it? Is it a knockoff or something? Thanks in advance, everyone! I truly appreciate your input and expertise!!

If it has a big battery, it could be a Hello. But all I've heard about the Hello seems like it should be 510 ready. Send it back, you can get adapters, but you don't want to mess with them all the time. Most of the places I've dealt with will send a replacement after one email/call.

The Riva 901 works with most 808 cartos out the box but some cartos don't unless you screw them down really tight and that's just a pain, you can just buy a 901>808 adapter and everything works great.

There are a lot of 901>808 adapters out there, do NOT get one where the center part is held by a silicon ring, it will not work otherwise.

I just received my Riva 510 today along with eGo XL cartos and they work perfectly together. I'm not very familiar with the 901 model, but the 510 works great. See if they will let you exchange for the 510.

I would suggest contacting the company that you bought the RIVA from. If it is who I think you bought it from, they will work with you.
