It's been a while since I posted but need some help. I have always been a mouth to lung person but just got an evic vtc mini and using the ego one mega so I am lung hitting it now. I am Using the titanium head, reads .47 ohms.

I was doing it wrong using the variable wattage at first but have now switched to the titanium setting TC. I am running it 500-530 degrees, around 30-35 watts but have tried a lot of different setting. While the vapor production is top notch I can barely taste anything except for the strongest juices. I have tried all different things sight the airflow.

My bro in law has a kanger subbox and we used the same juice and the difference in flavor was night and day.

Long story to basically ask is there something I might be doing that is muting my flavors or is this a known issue? Wanted to see if any ideas before I trash it for something else on top.

Wish I could help, but that hardware is totally alien to me. However, sub-ohm vaping doesn't have to be a problem, if you keep it simple and don't go to far sub-ohm. I just use a genny on a mech, putting the power straight to the coil without all that fancy stuff in between, and .7 ohm works wonderfully well for me. Maybe the way you are doing sub-ohm is a little too complicated? Maybe .47 ohm is too hot?

Thanks for replying. I think it's a pretty basic set up. I don't build anything it just comes with the tank but not sure because I am new to it. I am realizing now my bro in laws tank is sub ohm too and has flavor so maybe I just got a bad tank.

But being new to sub ohm I wanted to check first if way to fix or if it's just going to be muted before I spend more money.

Well VW and TC do complicate it. I just put the power straight to a .7 ohm 26 kanthal coil and it works great for me, but then I use gennies on mechs, which I doubt you are willing to get into the learning curve of. Doing your own builds instead of buying pre-made coils is worth learning how to do, and gives you a lot more control over your vape. If you are using a mech and RBA it becomes very simple, and just a matter of how you build your atty. There's only one power setting, that being ON, and your control is how you coil and wick it. Once you have that down you are golden :)

If you used that same coil in VW mode, you probably fried it. I hope you changed the coil out. If not, that may be your problem.

I did not use a different coil. I just didn't understand what I was doing at first. I actually completely fired the nickel coil first draw. So maybe I just burned the cotton but instead of tasting burned it's just not producing flavor?

Once you cook a coil like that, it never tastes right again. Change coils, make sure it is well-primed, lock the coil resistance in when it's at room temp, start with low wattage and temp settings then slowly ramp each up to find the sweet spot. Don't fire the coil at max wattage.

It appears you may be struggling more with temp control then sub ohm vaping. If fairly new to both, you might consider dialing in the sub ohm vaping using factory kanthal coils and then you can experiment with various resistance, clapton coils, quad coils, etc (depending on what all is available for your particular tank(s). Once you find what you really like, start your experimentation with temp control. You'll have something solid to compare it to. Just FWIW and :2c:. Good luck and enjoy the ride.

Thanks everybody for the replies. I didn't even realize what TC was when I bought it so definitely new. I have bought a new nickel and titanium coil and will check it out. Hopefully it is that I just burned it because now that I understand what the TC does I hope to have a satisfying vape tonight.

FWIW, nearly all coils for Temp control will be sub ohm builds, mainly due to the wire used.. BUT the term Sub-ohming is more applicable to UNREGULATED vaping. Where a sub ohm build is REQUIRED to achieve higher wattage vaping. A good VW or VV mod can do 200watts on a 3.0ohm build and a 0.3ohm build, where an UNREGULATED mod will need a sub-ohm coil and/or series batteries just to do more than 15watts.

IMHO that is not a good TC tank. Its a pretty nice regular tank with the CL-R heads but in TC it doesn't impress me at all.

Also IMHO titanium wire sucks. I hate it. And the Mega Ti coils are the worst.

Nickel is ok. Not really my thing but I do like it sometimes.

Using what you have right now I would buy some CL heads and enjoy a tastey vape in Power mode. Or get a Cubis to go on it, the Cubis is the current love of my life.

My experience is that titanium just cannot deliver the same quality of flavor as kanthal. It's too "soft". (yeah the wire is soft, but I mean the flavor is soft -- like, muted).
