subohm build question

Hi

Just did a build with Kanthal 24 Gauge 1A dual coil with 6wraps each on my Stillare Atty. I dont have a ohm meter or multimeter but my Vamo reads it at 0.2 ohm

I am using it with a Stingray-X mod and efest 2000mah IMR batteries.

My question is is it safe? Or should I build a higher ohm build?

If that is a red Efest 2000mah 18650, then that build is not safe for it. At best, that's a 10 amp battery, and that build could pull north of 20 amps.

And no offense, I don't trust your Vamo.

.6 and up would be more in the safe range.

At 4.2v a 0.2ohm coil is pulling 21 amps. At 0.16ohm (which I think your vamo would still read as 0.2) it would be over 26 amps. What is the amp rating of your batteries? The vamo is not accurate enough at that low resistance to be using as your only means of testing.

I wouldn't trust the Vamo, although you should be pushing at or over .2. Somewhere between .2 - .25. I would definitely invest in a ohm reader, and upgrade your batteries if you continue to subohm. Safety is the name of the game and all I can recommend is Sony VTC 4/5s and an ohm reader.

This is good information ^^^.

Here's a chart of some of the batteries available that lists it as a 10 amp continuous discharge rate battery. 0.6 ohms will draw 7A on a charged battery so that gives you a bit of room for ohmmeter error and partial shorts.

I would stop vaping your setup immediately. You're at double the CDR now and that goes up if the real resistance is less. That's really pushing it to vent and that can be dangerous.

I just want to echo what everyone else has said. STOP using that build!! Get an ohm meter, multimeter, etc and if you're going to continue using that battery I wouldn't build below .6 ohm
