the two main differences is the sub box is a 50 watt device the kbox is a 70 watt device, and the kbox has temp control functionality whereas the sub box does not. Temp control requires special coils but it reduces the likelihood of a burnt hit....or a vape that has been taken once the juice has dried up on the cotton.

Hi guys i'm pretty new to vaping. Planning to get myself a starter pack. Can someone please explain to me whats the difference between a subox and kbox? I know they both come from Kangertech. And a subtank mini is the way to go with them. But i dont really know much else.. Maybe help me with some pointers? Thanks in advance!

Actually there is much more info needed to accurately answer this question, and unfortunately Kanger Tech has not made things any easier by calling almost everything thing a Kbox.

Here is a list of the Kanger products that include some version of a Kbox in order of release date:

2015-Original Kbox - 40w mod
2015-Subox Mini Starter kit - includes 50w Kbox Mini and Subtank Mini
2015-Subox Nano Starter kit - includes 50w Kbox Nano and Subtank Nano
2015-Kbox Mini Platinum - 60w Kbox Mini with TC in stainless steel
2015-Kbox Mini - Kbox mini from the Subox mini starter kit available seperately
2016-Topbox nano starter kit - includes 60w Kbox Nano with TC and new Top fill Toptank Nano
2016-Kbox 70 - 70w mod with TC and built in Battery
2016-Kbox 120 - 120w mod with TC and uses 2)18650
2016-Kbox 200 - 200w mod with TC and uses 2)18650
2016-Topbox Mini starter kit - includes 75w Kbox mini with TC and new Top fill Toptank Mini

I think that everything above is correct.

Phil Busardo was making the same basic complaint with Kanger in his review of the Kbox Mini Platinum. Their mod product line has little distinction between very different products because of the naming convention they're using.

It's like they're pumping out mods quicker than they can think of names for them!

Looks right. Also, you can get the "kbox mini", 50w, in black or white, without any kind of tank -- it's really the same mod as the "subox mini" but since there's no tank, no reason to call it "sub" anything -- I certainly don't sub-ohm with my RDA.

Thanks for the reminder of this. I actually purchased the standalone Kbox mini from Vapor Beast, but I had forgotten. It is added above.

I got one of those too -- I was just waiting for those to be available without any of those tanks, and was thrilled to find it not only available, but so inexpensive! :thumb: It's really a very decent mod, much nicer than the iStick30 it replaced, which cost about $10 more and lasted only 7 months.
