will the rba section fit on the original subtank mini?
Kanger Subtank RBA Mini Plus has it listed but never in stock

I have a new black sub mini and some of the regular sub mini's and I can see no difference in the rba's of either EXCEPT the new rba with the black one has larger holes in the side for wicking and a set screw to hold the outer cylinder in place. I haven't tried putting one rba on another tank, but I do know the old OCC coil heads and the new Vertical ones are interchangeable.

if the occ and vertical coils are interchangeable it should work then in theory
i have 2 subtank minis and i honestly threw out the occ coils and have been using the rba sections
but one of them no longer fires guess from all the abuse i tore it down and tried to make it work around 20 times didnt work :(
i can find the original rba section but i wanted to try the new one

They are interchangeable. I have both. I'm using the older one until I figure out how to wick the new one where I can eliminate the "every once and awhile" dry hit.

assumed the new one would be better because the added juice holes
well i modded my rba i simply drilled a hole right in the center of the cylinder and no more dry hits wick is always fully saturated no matter how much i chain vape
my biggest gripe about the rba is trying to unscrew the cylinder head from the base sometimes it gets stuck and i have to use something to take it apart
the one

the trick to that is to grip the barrel as lightly as you can while you twist it off. Any pressure on that thin metal will deform it enough to make it feel like it's seized. if you barely grip the barrel (think of holding a fly between your fingers without squishing it), it'll pop right off.

lol ill try that always seems to be stuck sometimes i do a twisting back and forth gesture and it pops right off
well if the new rba section still gets dry hits guess ill get the older one and mod that one to
the only bad thing about drilling the cylinder head is itll leak like crazy for me if i dont use anything but max vg to 80 vg/20pg

for teardown of the old rba, tap tap the unit on a hard surface as that will free up the threads, i know it sounds too simple but it works, i used to get the pliers out lol.

as for the old rba mod heres a copy of a post i posted b4.

i was bored one day and i dremelled out the rba juice channels on one of my stmini rba decks.
wow what a diff, better juicy flavor, able to handle higher watts and longer hits and nay a dry hit or flood.
i then realized my other rba sucked in comparison, i decided i was going to also take the knife to it.

upon close inspection of the juice channels, i have sucky eyesight, one of the juice channels looked/is smaller compared to the one on the other side.

now theyre both vaping like a champ, plus they hit harder than b4.
warning: performing this operation will consume/vape more juice

so i used my dremel tool w/a cutoof disc to widen both channels up.

and this is the result. i increased the size of both channels.

no other modification made
works a treat no more dry hits but you do run through juice like crazy only downside and seems to leak more often if using high pg based juice
that was going to be my next mod but after widening the channels its working great, no floods/no dry hits and hits harder, but yes juice consumption increases but i diy

I have drilled holes in two of the RBA cylinders, and dremeled out the juice channels in two others (I bought a bunch of spares to make pre-coiled and freshly wicked spares to have on hand).

They both vape up to 25W without dry hits. I actually drilled 3 cylinders but on the 3rd one I had such a burr on the inside that I could not get it filed down and it would not clear the coil deck so could not screw it on. I think if you have a Dremel then enlarging the juice channels is much easier unless you have a tool I don't have to remove the burrs from drilling the cylinder.

I too paid $60 for my original black Subox kit and I'm sorry now I didn't buy a second. I have an iStick 50 but it always seems to run out of battery juice before the day is out. I like replaceable 18650s much better, at 5 bucks a pop.

yes i wanted to open up the juice channels also but i couldnt find any cutting wheels for my dremel so i used a drill bit instead works great

is the new subtank mini worth it?
i already love the air flow from the original subtank mini
i see if has even more air flow and i like the color scheme they chose
