i orderd the subox starter kit but i dont know wich 18650 battery i need is this a good one LG LGDBHE21865 2500mA/ 35A and do i need a charger or is charging trough usb kabel fine without charger thanks in advance
The LG HE2 battery will work fine. With removable 18650 batteries, I would recommend getting a good external charger. I have used a Xtar VP2 in the past and currently using the VP4 (I purchased them from Amazon for under $35). Especially with the QC on the subox, it seems there are quite a few where the USB charging port is slightly askew.

You can pick up a dual-Bay Nitecore (i2) for about $15 shipped
Just got my SubBox Mini Kit in today's mail. Haven't tried the USB direct Charging yet but will. Be nice to set it up by the rest of the Gizmos that need charging and hook up to the Desk-Top Station overnight. We shall see.

I just wanna chime in, try not to charge overnight. It's not worth the risks.
Most accidents happen while the batteries is on charge. So don't leave them unattended.

you do not need an external charger. This thing charges very fast and doesn't heat up the device it is perfectly safe. external charges should be in the past by now. some of these devices are over 100 dollars now.

Thanks. Aware of that with some Devices that do not have built-in IC capability. From all I read and understand, the Kbox Mini (Sub Box) does have that inherent to it.
It's nice being able to swap batteries and charge them. And i also use a mech mod. I trust a dedicated charger over the mod. Some have the capability but the manufacturer recommends against it, no matter the price.
The nitecore has temp monitoring so if the battery does have a problem it won't continue to charge and start an electrical fire. Speaking of fire, the charger is also made of fire ......ant plastic.
Don't misconstrue,,,,
I have an i2 at the House and a d2 at the Office. I prefer to use those as I have 8 Batteries shared between 6 Devices (all 18650 Samsungs, LGs, and a couple Sonys).
However, there will be times when the USB on the KB Mini will be preferred and will be used.
