Subtank Mini - Boiling hot and spitting issue help?

Hey everyone,
Just thought someone here could help me out on an issue I encountered today with my Subtank mini (which has been working fine for me over the past month).

Yesterday I decided to try and build my own coil, using a 26g kanthal. I did 6 wraps around the screw diver that came with the Subtank and it came to 0.5ohm.

It all seemed fine, but now when I vape, it gets VERY hot. The drip tip burns my mouth, and on top of that I have juice spewing into my mouth too.

I figured it could be flooding, so I cleaned everything up and rewicked the thing the way I always did. Same issue persist.

I usually vape at about 20w, so this time I went to as low as 8w and it's still boiling hot. What's going on?!

Unfortunately, I can't help you. Someone will be along shortly who can. I would recommend, however, that you not vape using your current setup. It could be dangerous.

As soon as I got home I decided to investigate further, and I think it was most likely because I didn't trim the legs of the coil well enough that it was slightly touching the chimney. I redid the coil, but this time slightly differently (26g, 6 wraps, 0.8ohm) and made sure I really trimmed the legs off well, and it worked. So I'm not sure whether it was the leg issue, or a coil issue... But my best bet is that I had a short from the leg touching the chimney.

When you clip the legs you can try bending the ends up after to make sure they dont touch the shroud. Also im not sure how you wick but not enough in coil will make it spit. You want it tighter than usual and your spitting should be resolved.
