So im looking for a new setup, ive had a fair few e cigs over the past 2 years. The best been a screwdriver mk3. But I want to start building my own coils.
I really like the microstick and almost brought it yesterday! But am I better off at this stage having something regulated?
So im thinking a dna20 mod, although I would prefer one I can open up for cleaning and possibly battery maintenance. I am a plasterer and work in dusty areas I often see particals of plaster and sand in my tanks... it gets everywhere so the device would require cleaning every other day or so..

Any suggestions appreciated!

Ohh and im not to fussed about price but I dont want to spend on fancy wood etc as its just not required I would rather a metal body, Thanks :)

to ecf richb87. So glad to have you here. Check out the reos. I doubt I will ever use anything else. They are simply that good. With your line of work, let me emphasize that they are darn near indestructible. Definitely worth a looksee. If you have any questions, don't hesitate asking. Always wonderful people here to help any way they can. Hope you find exactly what you are looking for. Enjoy and happy vaping to you.

Regulated devices are easier to learn with (they'll read your resistance, tell you if you're shorting your coil, etc.), so if price isn't a big thing that's the direction I'd lean. I love my Sigelei 50, though DNA boards are trusted and true. Wouldn't worry too much about opening them for cleaning since electronics sections are sealed and you can always open up your battery compartment to blow it out. Screen might be a concern. Tape over the face of it at work, perhaps?

So far as a good rba... kinda tricky since you want something you can learn on without too much difficulty, but you also probably want something that won't have wide open airholes all over it collecting particulate when you work. I'm thinking you want something more enclosed?
So, ummm, newfangled "leak resistant" rdas...
I'd say the Veritas but it's a little hard to build. If you're mechanically inclined it might not be a big deal (and it's cloned, and has rave reviews, yada).
The Holmes is cheap and sealed up and brilliant, but it's dual coil only. Probably still easier than a Veritas build, though. High recommendation.
The Fakirs Troy is sealed, I believe? Todd's got a review on youtube for that.
There's also the Yaeliq drippers. I love my mini Yaeliq, though it's teensy and only really for moderate-lower power vaping. The bigger one's probably more accommodating with better airflow for high powered stuff... and again fairly sealed up and Todd's got a review for it as well.

Rda's can handle a wide range of power. The upper end of that range for most sane people seems to be in the 70-80 watt area. If it was me, I would get a variable device that covers the range of most rda's, and rbta's with a little power to spare. The sigelei 100 watt plus would ensure you don't find yourself not being able to run something as hard as you want. It's a dual 18650 mod so even if you never go as high as it can, you still benefit from the long battery life. Even running something at 30 watts can kill a single 18650 pretty quick. A quality Kayfun clone or similar, or rda that supports single coil setups would be a great place to start and it being powered by a sig 100 would provide a great vape, good battery life and have enough power to allow you to grow without having to get a higher powered mod in the future. The sig owners say it's a quality device that seems very sturdy and silicone sleeves are available for added protection.

Sounds pretty ideal. The only gripes about the VS dna30 are basically that the battery lives inside it and you've gotta send it back if you need to replace it (hence the rdna30 being released), though that's a minor complaint. As well, the battery doesn't last days, or anything, but it lasts long enough for most people. Plus, it's little and sturdy and probably ideal for your work.

Again, the Veritas is a slightly tricky build (especially when it comes time to wick a vertical coil), but just watch a few videos and stick with it. It's easily one of the best attys around, and probably the most innovative and unique. I'm kinda in love with mine.

Good choices.

Edit: The more I think about it the more I think you might want longer battery life than the VS offers. Something with a removable 18650 might be nice. Have a look at the Sigelei 50w V2. It's pretty small, as well.

Spent thousands, actually tens of thousands of dollars on mods alone, not to mention atomizers...maybe a few grand on atomizers, no clones.

After spending all that hard earned money, I love all my mods differently, some a re better for certain juices and certain atomizers... but to sum it up, "if I was on a desert island....

Economy Mod + Atomizer Setup:
MOD: Vanilla Mod
Atomizer: Patriot/Tugboat

My Preferred High-End Mod:
MOD: Cartel Mod (18650 size) - My brass or stainless...either one...
Atomizer: Cartel Stillare V3 RDA...I prefer this over my authentic Skeleton key actually, lower drop on the Cartel, plus the Cartel is single tube, not adjustable... adjustable or telescoping mods are for the birds imo.

*When it comes to buying mods I've learned to look at the following selling points:

- Does it have a locking ring? I prefer my mods to NOT have a locking ring... if you look at how a Cartel Mod is designed you'll know what I'm talking about... It's safe, doesn't mis-fire, and I can set it on the table just fine... locking rings have a tendency to get stuck after months and months of heavy usage.

- Silver. Plated. Contacts. If you can, make sure your mod has at least silver plated contacts - Don't believe the people saying it doesn't make a difference, because it does.. Plus cost-wise It doesn't cost the manufacturer that much more to silver plate the contacts... this is a no brainer.

Atomizer selling points:

- Does it have a deep juice well? But not too deep where it's hard to re-build coils? A juice well is a must nowadays, mostly all RDA's over $50.00 have them, make sure you have one... more wick equals more juice equals more happy feelings.
