Some new vapers are only satisfied by tobacco flavors and food flavors leave them with an analog craving as if they had just eaten. Some new vapers feel more satisfied staying away from tobacco flavors. And some can vape any flavor right away and be satisfied. Figure out which you are and stick mostly with what satisfies you right now. later most are able to vape any flavors.

Re thickness - I don't want to fight with cartos or use syringes so I use juices that soak in fairly easily like 80PG/20VG

That's a quest you can't get a simple answer to, as taste is totally subjective. The person who started me vaping graciously let me depart with bogart from KVB.. It got me started, but I for the most part can't vape it anymore.

Of the various 40 bottles I now have, there are some that I ilke, but only for a brief drip.. These tend to be very sweet, borderline cloying. The coffee flavors I tend to be problematic for me, so I shy away from them them.

It's at best a very subjective thing.

Buy in small samples, and zone in one it. It will come.

I do like a few of AVEs juices, but they are all so thick!! Filling a carto even with a syringe is not a simple task and drip filling is likely to ruin the carto bc juice that thick takes forever to settle. Like I said I do like some of their juices, but I don't think their a good vendor for a newbie. It would be much easier for a newbie to learn how to prOperly fill and use cartomizers with a much thinner PG juice that is easier to work with.
I recOmmend checking out BlueMist Vapor. I think their a good vendor for a beginner bc they have a huge selection, over 250 juices and really good prices, $5 for 10ml and $10 for 30ml. They also offer sample packs and you can pick your own juices for a sample pack, which i think is good for a newbie bc they can try the juices they want to try. You can get all their juices in 80/20 PG/VG or 100%VG. I recommend the 80/20, for reasons stated above and bc a higher PG juice will provide much more TH, which many newbies look for in the beginning. They also offer extra flavor shots for .50 cents more and if you find a juice you really like you can get a 180ml bottle for only $30, which is an awesome deal and breaks down to $5 for 30ml.
I'm not bashing on AVE bc they do have some really good juices, but in my opinion, I don't think their a great vendor for a newb, and the OP asked the question pertaining to a newb. When most people start vaping, they want to try a lot of different juices to figure out what they like, hence why we all always suggest sample packs. AVE doesnt offer sample packs and since their juices are expensive, to try a bunch could really add up. That's why I like BlueMist bc they have such a variety of juices and you can pick your own for a sample pack so it's easier to figure out what you like bc you can try what you want to try. Also their juices are so cheap, that a newb can try a lot and not spend a ton of money.
I'm not saying for a newb to never try AVE juices, because they have some awesome juices and I think they should, just not first.
The reason I say this is bc I just ordered from AVE and BlueMist this morning. From AVE I got a 100ml bottle of Bobas, it's normally $53 but they were having a sale so I got it for $43. BlueMist was also having a sale and I got a 180ml bottle of Cafe Caramel with extra flavoring for $25.50, it normally would have been $30.50. I also got a 10ml bottle of buttery nipple on sale for $3 bucks and another 10ml bottle of Blueberry on sale for $3. They both would have normally been $5. I've never tried the buttery nipple or Blueberry but figured I would bc they were so cheap.
So I got 200ml of different juices from BlueMist for $31.50, while I only got 100ml of juice from AVE for $43. That means I got twice as much juice from BlueMist, and paid $13 less.
I'm not complaining bc Bobas is a great juice and I did place the order, but why is it so expensive?!
That's the main reason why I don't think their a great vendor for a beginner. With BlueMist a newb could try alot more juices for the same price as they'd pay for just a few from AVE. Add in the much larger variety and option for something besides really thick juice, and the ability to pick their own samples, and I think a beginner is much more likely to find a few juices they really like without having to spend a ton of money.
Just my opinion though..
