The VLS Vector is my choice and current in use. It's almost leak proof unless you turn it up side down. The only drawback is unable to use with other drip tip.

They got a top cap coming out for this (soon). Not sure why they waited so long.

Nice! Looks like it has everything I like about the Derringer, with better leak resistance. This might be the one for me.

I find the derringer is very forgiving with coil placement. It just kicks great flavor. The peak flavor of the derringer can be had with the Hastur, but coil placement is a bit more touchy.

Try the Prodigy by Vicious Ant. It has two layers and even when I overdrip I get no leaks at all. There are two different topcaps that you can use with this atty, one for MTL and one for direct lung hits. It's been my go to atty ever since I got it.

Whatever you do, don't get a Sapor. They have a defect with the center pin, insulators, & center post block. I've had the same issue with my first and my brand new replacement model in a week and a half of owning it. As for leak proof, nothing is truly leak proof, but top air atty's would tend to be more leak resistant.
The Hastur is a combination of side and top airflow, it has an inner barrel similar to a derringer with the airflow slots, with the outer sleeve that directs the airflow to the topcap.
The Aeolus v2, Vector, REMatty, and the Rogue atty are solid choices for top afc. I would lean towards the Vector/Aeolus since the afc is built directly into the top cap.
Edit: also check out the Thump atty. low profile design with top air

Do you have a link to more info about this? I have a Sapor, and am very happy with it, but would like to learn more about any potential problems with it. Thanks!

I just got finidhed watching Mike Vapes review the Hastor.

From my thinking it is the same as the Rogue except the Hastor comes down from the top to hit your coils. The Rogue comes in on the side near the top turns 90 degrees and goes down to your coils.

You can get the Rogue on eBay for as little as $8.99 and you get three tops. Stainless brass and copper.

Mike Vapes said the airflow was restrictive. I use the Rogue every day and taking lung hits is no problem.

I vape my Goblin Mini when I am out and about then after I get home I dtip my Rogue.

The Hastur works the same as the Manta V2.
Air is drawn from the top, down a "channel", turns 90deg and draws across the coil, from the side.

And with more airflow, save for not having a two-post deck, I am interested! And it has that Vortice/Aromamizer-esuqe swirl-airflow design. How have I not looked into this? Thanks, I never once looked into the Hastur. Is it as good for flavor as the Manta v2? I know this isn't a flavor thread though...

Did the OP state a budget?

Okay so about the Sapor...my first I was running on my AV Peg mod which is a hybrid mech mod. Granted my build was low ohm but my mutations could handle the heat better than the Sapor.
On like the fifth day I had it, I unscrewed the bottom to swap batteries and usually when I have an rda on top & a battery inside, there's a little gap between the bottom button housing & the rest of the mod.
Well I popped my Samsung 25r in and when I was screwing the button housing on, around the point that it would normally stop moving because the + was making contact with the center pin I felt a bit of resistance but it kept threading until there was no gap at all.
So I took everything apart, because I know about direct to battery mods and shorting and I didn't want to blow up my hand/face/favorite mech mod. Nothing was wrong with my mod, so I looked and the Sapor's center pin had pushed itself in to the point where it looked like the insulator was protruding farther than the center pin. I look inside the atty and on the deck, the T block center post was pushed up about 2-3mm. I pushed it back down to hear an audible click noise. I tried unthreading the center pin so it was safe to use, but the center post block popped up again. So I pushed it down again to hear that click and screwed it back onto my mech. The same thing happened. The center pin spun freely back to where it was before, which was recessed inside the insulator.
I took it to the shop I got it from, they kindly replaced it with a new Sapor and within 3 days and a higher ohm simpler build the same thing happened when i ran it at 60w on an IPV4. The rhodium plating pretty much can't handle the heat and gets super hot, melting the insulator around it. I don't even know if the insulator around the center pin is PEEK.
That's the detrimental fault in the Sapor for me.

You can see a small gap in the seam at the bottom just below the mod's vent holes, that is the gap I am referring to.
@Two_Bears - I met mikevapes at the NJ Vape Expo....i don't like him. I'm not gonna go into detail here but if you want to know why just message me.

Mike is not one of my favorite reviewers. The reviewers I usually watch are Grimmgreen, Rip Trippers, Suck my mod.

I was wanting a review of the Hastor and Mike came up

The NJ was a real screw up. They had permission for the expo and the darm Bureaucrats changed the rules. And the only place to taste ejuice was beside a stinky dumpster..

I wasn't there but I watched vids of what went down by watching big Lou, PBussardo and one or two more.

Sunday was even worse than Saturday. I'm not talking about him as a reviewer, but as a person lol. Sunday they stopped letting people in around 4:30-5:00 (when it was supposed to close at 8pm), claiming they were at capacity. A guy going out had slipped off his wristband and he gave it to me, so I slipped it on my wrist and the place was at like 1/3 capacity. The one good aspect of what happened on Sunday is that vendors were desperate to get rid of stock and were selling for like $2-5 over wholesale cost. I walked out with 2x IPV4's for $100, a hobo v3.1 for $50 and the entire Sour Batch juice line in 15ml bottles for $15, as well as some freebies. I sold one of the IPV4's locally and made my money back on the both of them and the other was a gift for my father for his birthday. Can't say it was a total disaster.

I heard about them shutting the venue down early. Bureaucrats are dangerous. They get a little power and they think they got a new infusion of brains.

Yeah and NJ has ridiculous non-smoking laws, and consider vaping indoors illegal. Nj has too many laws regarding everything from gun control to vaping...it's why I only live here part time lol

If it were me! I would go to Texas, Tennessee, Florida, and take up residence in a lower tax state.
