I was recently given an Ego-One from my sister, she felt guilty as she got me started smoking 30 years ago, anyways after a couple weeks of using it I decided to upgrade my setup.
So I purchased an IPV3 Li, a Kanger Subtank plus, and various items to try my hand at building my own coils.
within the last couple days I have tried various coil designs and setups, my first setup was a vertical dual coil (kanthal) .5 ohms, ran into wicking issues early on but found if you pack the organic cotton very tight in the coils, and loosely outside of the coils it wicks well.
my second build was a single coil using 30g Ni200 wire (3mm windings), it came in at .3 ohms and I ran it at 20 Joules, with a temp around 350f. no wicking issues
My latest build is a Horizontal Dual Coil using Ni200 30g wire (2.5mm windings), .1 ohms and running it at 18 Joules and temp of 350f. no wicking issues
The only issue I have is the flavor tastes muted compared to the Ego-One (running same juice), does anyone know of a good build that will maximize the flavor output while maintaining a cool/warm vape?
