Super-Charger, motherboard option for fast USB charge

On my MSI motherboard I'm lucky to have an option to charge my ecig batteries a *little* bit faster. There is a special USB header that connects to the front usb port of my computer. The software that MSI provides for the motherboard interfaces with the port and allows it to be specifically used for charging USB component hardware. Any of you out there using this option ?

Most USB specs support 500 mA some newer specs even higher. I guess it depends on the charger you are using and how many amps it draws. The point is you have to look at the little sticker on the charger. That will tell you what it draws. Unless it's over 500 mA any USB port should work. Just because the port is capable of more, doesn't mean the charger will draw more.

...yep, you would havvta mod the charger as well and possibly the protection circuitry of the batt as well...you can get a 2000mah(2amp) or even higher USB hub, wall wart or car charger BUT, the charge cable will still only put out 480mah....

If you mod a charger cable to shove more mA into a battery you can damage the battery. Like slim 510's charging cables put out 150 to 220mA depending on the cable. The fat battery Ego (6500mah+ batteries) charger cables put out 420mA and have the same threads as slim 510 cables. But the Ego charger cable can damage the slim 510's. I did not know TWO &(*#*&#( vendors sent me Ego cables instead of 510 cables and they damaged 3 510 batteries and then 2 brand new replacement batteries before i discovered one cable and then the other. What happened to the batteries was they stopped holding charge as well, were vaping cool like they had less voltage or were late in their charge and their protection circuits were damaged (did not flash to warn me of low battery so they were being strained additionally by being run down too far). They were ruined.
