Suppliers with multiple accounts.

I suspect that there are at least a few suppliers who use multiple accounts and I found one fairly obvious example so I used the "Report This Post" button to bring it to the attention of the staff here. But was troubled when I saw that the supplier, whom I was reporting (and who remain nameless here), answered the report with a PM saying to never report posts in his private forum again, that they don't use multiple accounts.

His/her tone was quite harsh and threatening and I found it odd that if I wanted to report what I feel is dishonest marketing, the only thing I can do is make a report to the person who is being dishonest. I understand that this forum makes money off suppliers and in return gives them privileges, but isn't having that much privilege just a bit too much? Is there any way you could install that vb mod that automatically detect multiple accounts and just ban all of them. It really dillutes the forum in my opinion and makes for quite akward situations like what I described above. Or at the very least, maybe have any reported posts made in the suppliers' forums create a new thread in the ECF Staff (non-suppliers) staff forum, so that the reports can be investigated by ECF staff and not the supplier? Just a thought...

Thanks

if it was a suppliers sub forum they have general control over what takes place in there forum if it was else where then i suggest a pm or such to any of the mods with the link to the aforementioned thread and a brief summary of what maybe wrong with it. also the report button does report it to the mods but usually unless it is really bad it is left up to the sponsoring supplier. this is mostly from SJ himself.

Hi Babachoo. that sounds like it would be a good idea to me. Have you tried chatting to SJ about it?

Nope, hopefully he'll see this thread when he gets a chance to scan the forums. I'm glad the supplier hasn't shown up in this thread and edited it. Hopefully they (suppliers) don't have those abilities in this section. :(

Nice, thanks for the quick reply and suggestions. I'll take that route the next time I spot something fishy.

I think they only have the power to edit posts in their own forum.
