Surge Tank: what's the point at that price?

I'm looking at the JCModTronics Surge Tank and I'm thinking: what a brilliant idea! It's VERY well made, and it can turn a proper VV/VW mod (something that's sorely lacking in the BF world apparently) into a bottom feeder. It's absolutely perfect in every way, but...

99 smackeroonies???

I can get a complete, real bottom feeder mod for less than half that price. As a result, unless you absolutely insist on having a cylindrical mod that does BF, or you want to mate it to a E-Huge to create the most humongous mod in the world for shits and giggles, I find it very hard to justify buying it.

Can someone give me a rationale for buying the Surge Tank?

Well, I think you said it yourself. If you already have tube mods you like, the surge tank is the only device of its kind that lets you enjoy the benefits of a bottom feeder while using those tubes.

I agree with you that the price tag seems steep. At one time, they talked about making one out of delrin at a lower price point. I'm not sure whatever happened to that. I've never seen one in the wild, anyway.

As to the size... Well, there are quite a few really large mods out there and some folks will take a giant mod (think 26650 tube sized) and then put a zenisis on it. - For that matter, there are tanks out there larger than 5ml that tend to be bigger than I would care to use and folks put those on full sized provaris or vamos etc etc etc. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so they say.

Oh really? Which one and where?

Anyway, I agree the device is huge and probably too expensive. After all, an authentic Kayfun Lite + is over $100 and they are extremely popular. At one time I would have possibly been interested in a smaller version of the Surge Tank, but its been 2 years and none have been offered. Since getting the Kayfun I'm no longer interested.

This one here. Ok it's 79.90 eur, so it's more like $110. Still, it's complete, not just a topper.

That is an interesting looking unit. High School French was thirty plus years ago, but from what I gather, that takes an 18500, has a boost regulator (vv/vw), and an 8ml bottle. - It looks like it has a Vmod-style cone. I think it says that it is limited to 5 watts, though? Is that what it says?

EDIT: Nevermind the question. I got it. It says 15 watt maximum and variable in increments of .5 watts.
