If the stainless steel type is unknown you might need a metallurgist to answer that question. There are countless types of stainless steel and different alloys will have different characteristics. Some take an edge better, some are better for marine uses, some polish better, some are stronger, harder, more tensile, some for decorative uses, some for cooking utensils.

How can you tell the difference between Surgical grade stainless steel to let's say something other than "Surgical Grade" stainless steel?

Easy....

There is no such thing as "surgical grade" stainless steel.

Simple.

Surgical tools are made from 304 or 316 grade stainless steel, the two most common grades of stainless steel in the world. If you've got a stainless steel mech mod I can assure you it's either 304 or 316 grade, the exact same thing used in surgical tools.

If that's the case then f@#$ yes! I've been worried sick about this! Because of safety reasons I'm concerned about that type of materials are used in our rda's

Yup, you're good. If you ever get something and find it rusts, that's not 304 or 316. I've only heard about this happening a couple of times though so I don't worry about it even with cheap clones I try to see if I like something before spending more money on it.

304 stainless is what's used in almost everything from e cig components to industrial equipment used for food processing. 316 is more corrosion resistant, but its more expensive and unless in a really harsh environment doesn't provide any benefit. It just costs more. Knives are made from 400 series stainless usually, or the newer powdered metals such as S35vn or similar grades. No way your juice tanks or mods are made from those grades lol. Although the threads would probably last a REALLY long time on that RBA!
