Oh Canada
Hi everyone, I'm glad I found you. First off let me say that I had no idea e-cigs were so hard to get in Canada. What a bunch of BS! I had heard about e-cigs online and saw them on trips to the US.

I've been a smoker for about 20 years. Recently, (now dont laugh too hard) I drove by "Great Canadian Dollar Store" here in NB. They were advertising e-cigs on their big sign out in front. I went in and bought my 1st e-cig for $10!!!! No brand name or anything so I dont know what I really have here. I have something that looks just like a cigarette that plugs in the wall and came with 10 cartridges and a car charger as well. I can't tell if there is any nicotine content in this or not. Personally I think there is, but no info on the package only charging instructions which are poorly translated into english. After buying it and using it for the past 4 days I started doing some research on e-cigs which is what landed me here. Oh, I havent smoked a real cigarette in 4 days either!! I'm really excited about that. This thing is killing my cravings and it's awesome.

The reason Im' writing is twofold. 1 reason is just to say "hello" to everyone here. 2nd reason is to possibly get help down the road if the freaking dollarstore (lol) stops selling these. I really had no idea the Canadian government/ Health Canada had such a problem with e-cigs, it blows my mind actually.

So, Hello everyone. I'll probably be asking you loads of questions. (sorry in advance) lol

LMAO @ Stosh!! I'd love to give up the "dollar store" smokes but it's the only place I have ever seen e-cigs for sale in my country. Thanks for the link, Im doing a lot of reading before I make my next purchase. I have been off analogs for a week now!!! This is awesome!

Just wait till you get a 'real' e-cig, like an 808 !

Welcome to ECF and the wired, weird, wonderful and wacky world of vaping - and well done for giving up the evil weed.

There's lots of friendly Canucks on this board who will be only too willing to point you in the right direction for Canadian suppliers of hardware and liquids and help you get to the next level of vaping nirvana!

WElcome from another fellow Canuck vaper! There's an E-cig for sale at my local dollar store in the outskirts of Toronto, but the thing is like $30 for a single cig and I don't know how many carts (and presumably a simple charger) or $50 for a larger "starter kit." It's called HD smoke. It's probably on the nasty side. I'm curious about it but wouldn't drop that kind of money on a curiosity.

In any event, once you've got 5 non-spam posts under your belt, drop by the above-linked Canada forum and we'll hook you up with a list of Canadian suppliers that sell proper E-juice (most carry hardware, too). It's not as hard to find stuff as you think. We just have to be a bit more circumspect about it around Health Canada's bureaucratic eyes. (Oh, and things are afoot to try and change the laws here, too, so there's that, though don't expect anything soon.)

Congrats. :) 4 days with no tobacco myself and happy to say that quitting has never been easier. :)

Hey Dark Jester, I've said the same thing to people. I've used all the products- champix, nicorette, nic. inhalers and none of them give you the same satisfaction as vaping. So this time it's totally different. I know that I've quit analogs but I dont have that longing/yearning (lol) for a smoke this time around. Weird eh?

And congrats to you! 4 days was the hard part- now it's easy sailing for you.
