See the following picture on social media. Is it true that you spend a big share of your money on vape gear? How much do you spend on vape in a year?:nun:

hmm
best to break it down
batteries minimum 2 sets of 2 cost to me $ 38 a pair delivered so $ 76 a paired set
expected life 2 years so
$38 pa
mods first year i bought 3 at ~ 300 so $100 each
expected life 3 years minimum
$100 pa
pre made coils $5 for 3 smok $10 for 5 geek so ~ 1.66 each
expected life 3 weeks each so
$40 pa
rebuild playkits cotton coils wire tools meter tanks ~$80
expected life 3 years so
$30 pa
spares glass o rings tips $20
expected life 5 years
$4 pa
and the biggie 34 x 100ml juice @ $12 each $408 ( self imported ... x this by 7 for local retail )
expected life 2 years so
$200 pa
all figures are fairly accurate ballpark but lives are arbitrary
so
~ $ 412 a year or ~ $ 270 us a year
cigarettes @ $25 for the loose filled cheapies up to $ 30 for the premiums ( ~ $ 17 - $ 20 us ) a packet of 20 are a more expensive option > $10,000 per year ( $ 6,700 us per year )
final figures are of course if i can stop buying far more mods and tanks than i will ever need and stop buying so many toy incidentals

I spend about $0.10/day on DIY juice, about $0.02 per week on wicking, and about $0.06 per quarter on wire. Then my wife vapes too so that would be doubled. That comes out to about $75.56 per YEAR for both of us, for supplies. In previous years I might buy one setup per year, until I found what I really liked and I bought several duplicates so I am done with buying hardware. So yeah, going forward $75-$100/year is my vape budget to account for price increases or maybe some flavor experimentation.

So at least in my case that image is wrong.

Since I started vaping to date I've spent near $35K on vaping gear, tools, DIY supplies (at first also some premade juice as I was learning how to perfect my DIY). Everything I've bought for vaping was bought on line, so it has been relatively easy to keep track of expenditures. I had no set vape budget, just bought whatever I decided that I wanted 'within reason' in turn to upgrade my gear and build up my supplies stash over the years from savings. I am long retired, live alone and vaping is what I do to pass the time. So cost is not a concern to me.

I do have some Geek Vape gear @Geekvape_Official ... 3 Avocado Genesis RTA's and 3 Avocado 24 RDTA's that were my first choice for some of my TC mods and Noisy Crickets back when I ran them (bought the Avo's March to May 2016). They have not been used since the TC mods started to fall out of importance summer 2017 when the squonking gear I had used since summer of 2014 took over all of my vaping again. But the Avo's would still be a first choice for them if I ever brought those mods back out of mothballs for daily use.

This has been my 1st year of vaping this month. I shudder to think of the thousands of dollars I’ve spent on vape gear. Yep, thousands!!

I’ve bought 25 mods, >17 RDAs, 12 RTAs, handful of drop in coil tanks, coil making equipment stuff and DIY ejuice with over 160 flavor concentrates.

Good thing I didn’t get in to vaping to save money !!
