I would dare to ask which Trustfire batteries you bought, but it really doesn't matter. I wouldnt use a Trustfire/UltraFire/[insert ironic superlative here]Fire if I was given a lifetime supply.
You shouldn't use anything other than a high-drain IMR/Hybrid in a single battery VV/VW APV. Anything else and you're just poking a bear named Murphy.

I saw them on vaporjoes blog and ordered them thinking they would work cuz it said it would work on most mods
If you’re referring to the ........ post from yesterday with the link to purchase at Amazon, those are not Trustfires, but Panasonic CGR18650CH batteries (they were the 4 for $26 deal). Those would be fine in an SVD. I agree with Rader2146 to avoid the Trustfires of any size (or their chargers) since their performance is sub-par compared with other brands such as AW, Panasonic or Efest.
No the post was a few weeks back. 2 trustfire 18650s for like $10. It was from fasttech.
I'd give it a go, but that's just me. I'm under the impression that most people are speaking hearsay and not from personal experience. Im not calling anyone a lyre. Its just a feeling I get. Don't get me wrong, batteries can be dangerous, but the chances of something going wrong are pretty small. If they don't work out it'll most likely be because they just plain don't work or the life of the batteries between charges will suck.

I'm probably one of the last people that would be accused of being a Safety Nazi or fear-monger, and I couldn't care less about what people do on their own accord. But when someone is asking for advice, I tend to lean toward the side of safety because if they knew any better, they wouldn't be asking.
Then there are the people that think they know better, but they really dont. So I'll ask, Ron, why on earth would it be advisable to use a battery of questionable quality, with questionable performance capability, shoddy safety features, and grossly inflated specs in an APV that will EXCEED the rated capability of the battery? Will it work? Maybe, maybe not. Is it advisable? Small chances or not, that's piss poor advice every time.

I looked at those batteries and they aren't bad per say. They aren't as good as AW or efest, but not bad. They are 3.7v protected batteries from a decent brand. Not a big deal. Now if they were some generic no name battery like the ones that usually come with China made mechanical mod kits I'd say it was a pass.

well i was able to cancel the order before it got shipped out. i found a brick and mortar about 45 minutes from home with efest imr batteries so i will head up that way and buy some, thanks for the advice guys!
I looked up the blog post before my earlier post. My opinion remains the same. Trustfire is NOT a decent brand. A fancy wrapper is just lipstick on a pig. With the *Fire brands you really dont know what you are getting. Is it a 3000mAh or a 2500mAh? They can't be honest enough to put an accurate capacity on them, why would they be honest enough to use a quality cell? The fire brands have been known to use blatantly different (ie: 1100mAh and 2200mAh) cells in the same wrapper advertised as 2400/3000/3600/4000 mAh batteries. One particular test showed 3 different cells advertised and sold as the same 3000mAh battery. Multiple cases of protection circuits failing, or being horribly matched. One can only conclude that they used whatever is cheapest and available at the time and slap a wrapper on the cell without any regard for accuracy. What you get in one batch could be completely different than the next.
Beyond the brand, an ICR battery should never be used in a VV/VW mod. There are very good reasons that IMR batteries are recommended. Some people that know how these things work and know the current load that the mod will be asking from the battery determined that ICRs should not be used. Did you know that the peak current in a VV/VW APV could be 9 amps or more? 9 amps from a cell that rated for 5 amps? Add that to the uncertainty of if that cell is even what it's claimed to be? Seems legit...not a big deal....

thanks soo much, its funny i was just looking at the deal for 4 from vapor joes blog. sold out for now but i was just reading orbtronics cgr18650ch is the same exact battery with an orbtronics sticker over the panasonic wrapper. is this true? if so maybe they will do and i wont have to go to the brick and mortar, the are charging 11.99 for an aw imr 1650 and its only 1500 mah.
i hate being cheap like this but right now $ is tight and with kiddies mouths to feed and bdays coming up the wife is kinda giving me a hard time spending any cash, in todays world every doll!ar counts lol
Orbtronic sells genuine Panasonic cells. They purchase them through a distributor that re-wraps them and puts their logo on the battery.
My opinion remains the same as well. Do we really know what we are getting with any battery that we purchase? They ALL come from China and with that get dubious quality standards. I've had Joye egos which are supposed to be some of the best ecig batteries become hot to the touch. I've had 26500 3000mah Efest batteries last only a couple of hours paired with a kick. I've has a brand new AW not able to keep a charge longer than a couple of hours. I've also has a 14500 trustfire perform flawlessly for months. From this point on it is all conjecture, but I do believe that the "better" brands do try to keep their quality up, but they do miss some things. I've had good trustfire's (which I still use) and bad aw's and Efest. Granted, I've bought way more aw's and efests than anything else, but that goes to show, there is no such thing as a perfectly safe battery.
The only exception to any of this are Panasonic batteries. They have all been fantastic, but then again they are made in Japan. Weird...
