How far is the juice control open? Can you take a pick of the coil/cotton?Following Q's video also, just not rayon. Burnt hit remains.
That's the better looking setup anyway! No problems here at all.![]()
And I remembered when I ordered at least, they were out of the metal of drip the top/fill cap piece.
So alas, I have the poly version.. It's not bad though!

That looks so good! I shall be looking out for when the drip tips are back in stock. It makes it slightly shorter too I think? Very, very niceNo problems here at all.

May have solved my problem. Changed to a spaced coil. Cut wicks to edge of outer deck, tuck down lightly, leaving large resivoir wick area near coil. JFC open 2-2.5 turns. Been doing fine. Before, I was getting maybe 10 minutes befor a dry hit. Juice is 70% vg.

On my last build I used my normal amount of cotton in the wick but decided to trim off about 30% off each tail (along the wick, not the length) after it was threaded through the coil. This resulted in thinner wicks going into the well. I get a noticeably more saturated vape...much more snap, crackle, and pop (which used to disappear after a tank or two).![]()
This works just great for me... just make sure the cotton just touches the juice holes and not stuffing too much in
Spaced coils are a bit more forgiving for sure because juice can flow a little easier and I believe a spaced coil isn't quite a hot but you should be able to run a tight coil just the same. I doubt the main reason for your previous dry hits was just going from tight to spaced, but more so either to much wick tails jammed into platform or not enough wicking material in the coil itself. Either way it's awesome you got it sorted and after a few times you will get consistent results. Awesome looking coil there my friend!May have solved my problem. Changed to a spaced coil. Same here bronze, in every tank I use with coil diameters above 2mm or so and higher, I always trim my tails, especially with rayon. I would say I trim about 1/4 to 1/3 of the original size then fluff the remaining. On my last build I used my normal amount of cotton in the wick but decided to trim off about 30% off each tail (along the wick, not the length) after it was threaded through the coil. Definitely a noticeable difference. And yes, I learned this with 2.00+ coils. I have always used 2.00mm coils but decided to go with 2.4mm (using less wraps) on the mini because it is a narrower deck. After a few rewickings I decided to trim them down and glad I did.Same here bronze, in every tank I use with coil diameters above 2mm or so and higher, I always trim my tails, especially with rayon.
