I like my juices on the sweet side. I'm working on making a strawberry with PA strawberry but I have no clue how much sweetener to use or which one to use. I've tried it with no sweetener and I can tell that I need to add something.

I have liquid surculose and ethyl malto to choose from. How many drops for a gently sweet strawberry and do you include that volume in the total percent of the flavoring?

I generally use .5-2 drops of liquid Sucralose per 10ml depending how sweet I want it (I use the splendex.net stuff not EZ-Sweetz but they should be similar). Not sure about EM, but it's not nearly as sweet as Sucralose, so the amount you need to add may distort your %'s too much unless you're just dropping in a few crystals.

If you want half a drop or any portion of a drop just dilute your ingredient in PG first (such as 1 drop Sucralose to 4 drops PG) and then add some drops of that to the liquid (in the 1:4 example, each drop of the mixture is 1/5th of a drop of Sucralose).

EM is a much subtler sweetener and has a slight fruitiness to it. I use it when I just want a little bit sweetness in things like natural fruit flavors, and I use sucralose (ez-sweetz) when I want something more powerful as with dessert flavors. 1 drop per 3ml of juice is usually more than enough with the ez-sweetz, with EM I just add one drop at a time until it taste the way I like it :D
