Tammy, are they hard to take care of?

They aren't hard to take care once you learn their needs. Gliders are exotics and therefore aren't as easy as a hampster or gerbil. (Got a few here that the owners thought they'd be no different) They are nocturnal and require a balanced calcium to phosphorus diet to guard against brittle bone disease or hind leg paralysis. When stressed (severe stress) they can self mutilate in the form of ripping their hair out, kinda like a bird does by pulling feathers. My blind glider came to me blind from a bad diet and completely bald on his head, he'd ripped it out because he lived with college boys that abused him. You also have to make tiny ecollars because if they get injured, they can also self mutilate. Gliders don't understand pain and will attack their injury thinking that they can stop whatever is hurting them.

The fun part of a glider is they are marsupials like kangaroos. The females have a pouch and their offspring are called joeys. The joeys are reared in the pouch and after about 60 days in the pouch, they detach from the mother's teat and will continue to nurse in pouch for about 8 to 10 weeks. The male plays a vital role in the rearing, he'll babysit and ride the joey around on his back. Gliders have opposable thumbs and hold their food like little monkeys, they can also untie knots with ease and are quite cute doing it. They form very deep bonds with their cagemates and their person. When they bond to you, they'll hang out in your pocket (or in your bra like mine do) and be perfectly content. Mine rarely jump off me and if they do, they'll jump or glider right back to me. Vet visits are interesting, if the tech or vet holds them, they'll squirm their way away from them and glide right back to me. LOL My blind glider can't see me but he can smell me no matter where I'm at in the room and will jump or glider right to me. I'm also their human tree, they'll run and play together from my feet to my head. LOL

They'll groom each other and me too. Heaven forbid they find a freckle on me, they'll do their dangdest to groom it off.

Oh and the boys can be neutered, every rescue that comes to me gets an immediate vet check and after quarantine, they get snipped.

And that is a little (or alot) about gliders! :)

G'day all, I'm looking at getting one Brad's mods. (They look awesome btw). I'd like some advice on their size. I have medium-sized men's hands. How comfy are they to grip. Not too wide? They look a real handful, literally, but with the nice ergonomics to them they'd be very comfortable I assume.

The GRIP is not wide at all, just about 2 inches wide is all and a little over an inch thick. My GRIP is the reversed, I hold it in my right hand and press the fire button with my thumb. When holding my GRIP, the plunger is in between my ring and middle finger and my thumb is between my pointer and middle finger, reaching up to my first knuckle.

My GRIP is the most comfortable mod to hold and use, it is perfectly molded to your hand. It is solid, nothing flimsy about it, nor is it clunky feeling. The smoothness of it and the finish that Brad uses on them makes it feel silky soft.

I too was worried about the size of the GRIP and put off getting one for the longest time, could kick myself for that! Pictures do not do Brad's quality and mastercraftmanship justice, these mods are gorgeous. It's also hard to imagine how it would fit or feel in your hand but when you hold it, it's like it was made just for your hand.

Okay your beautiful description just made me drool. I'm glad I'm on the waiting list. Is it wrong to love my unborn Grip, Tomoki?

LOL!

Nope, nothing wrong with that as long as you promise me that you won't laugh at me for having 2 GRIPS already and 2 more in the works. Got to have them to match the outfits and occasions don't ya know. :)

Ya know, it is a beautiful morning. Storms have passed for the moment and that grandson of mine has the sweetest little cheeks and neck, ears, chin, feet, toes, okay he's just made of pure sugar and I can't keep my lips off of him!
Good thing he doesn't mind my kisses or he'd be a frustrated little mite. LOL
