Smokes here are, last time I checked, around $5 per pack. There are two smokers in my house (and one occasional moocher). We both smoked about a pack a day... maybe a bit more. Let's just call it $12 per day. That's $4380 per year. I'm approaching my 2 year vaperversary, so $8760. No way, even with the admittedly insane collection I have, have I spent nearly $9 grand. And I feel better, smell better (both senses of the word), food tastes better... all things you can't really put a $$$ on.

How many of the mods do you use regularly?

I have 45-50 mods and use almost all of them monthly. I have favorites, but like to make sure I rotate thru most everything.

exactly... as much as the shinier and prettier might catch my eye, I'm thinking more like:

"okay the toptanks work well and suit my needs mostly, hmm is 5 enough for long term?" and "okay we have two pro tanks, he's not going to break the glass on these as easy!" or "we have 3 regulated mods that don't go above 75w, neither one of us vapes over 35w, do we really need any 200w mods?" and "the 60w dripbox works well, but maybe we should have a 2 battery device after all, I want to try some quad coils..."

and just now "I'm going to crazy glue his pocket shut, so he stops dropping his tank and mod out of his pocket every time he puts his boots on every morning..."
My wife was the same until I got her a few of those little vape bands. Free much of the time, but super cheap in general. They really do protect tanks from breaking when dropped IME.

They look kinda dumb, but not my fault she is a klutz.;)

Likewise. I use every last mod at least one time each month. I typically carry two to work, and use a different set at home. I like clouds most of the time, but the haze gets to The Wife, so...

they don't save the glass when he takes pliers directly to it... yes, he has done that more than once...
he's a mechanic by trade and we have a decent sized truck, he's dropped them so many times....
I've used the bands and explained the value... if it adds hassle he wont do it.. he wants to just vape and go, period.

I've spent a whole lot more on vaping than I did on smoking because I made my own cigarettes. I spent like $10 a carton, I spend about $30 a week assuming I don't buy anything new. I couldn't care less because everything I've bought I get to enjoy for years not just for 3 minutes. Ohh and vaping is at least %95 safer. Now if you DIY, don't have shinyitis and use a RDA/RTA you're vaping for pennies.
I have also as I rolled my own 99% of the time too. $26 would get me roughly 3 cartons which equated to about 3 weeks with a free lighter every time. I'd get a pound of local pipe tobacco, 6 packs of tops filter tips and 6 packs of bugler 115 leaf papers for that so even with the ~$200 I've spent on vaping this year, it's cost more over the last 3 of years to vape. It will eventually catch up as $65 of that was an order I placed today for another 600ml of flavorings and another gallon of vg since I'm running low. The other $130ish was 3 cheap beater mods and 2 atties. I have one more mod purchase I'd like to make but am in no hurry and haven't seen what I'm looking for yet and I've been looking for 6 months or so. I don't mind though. I enjoy it as much as I enjoyed smoking, it's not as bad for me, and I'm waayyyy past the point of returning to smoking if I quit vaping. I can't smoke like I vape and the way I vape is what I'm addicted to and not so much the nic (my happy place is between 1-2 mg).

Nope, I save money every day,,,,,,I smoked 2.5 packs of Newport 100's every day,,,,,I spent at LEAST 10 bucks a day on cigarettes,,,,,,

Now I have 2 provaris,,,one to use and one for a back up,,,,,,,I've tried a couple different tanks and settled on the Aspire Nautilus,,,,,,,and of course, there's batteries and coils,,,,,,I replaced my batteries this year, and will most likely get a year out of them,,,,,,,I vape 0nic DIY juicy peach,,,,,,,I think it comes out to a couple bucks per 50ml bottle.

Nope,,,,,,I save a ton of money,,,,,,,Having said that, there's certainly nothing wrong with the hobbyist aspect of it,,,,I just choose to spend my savings on a DIFFERENT hobby,,,,I make handmade cards and I am always spending my $$$ on supplies LOL,,,,,

you ARE saving money,,,,,,you just choose to spend that money on your HOBBY,,,,,which turns out to be vaping :D

Just yesterday I finally got around to calculating my monthly vaping expenses ...

Other than a few NJOYs in the first couple of weeks, I have made every vaping purchase online, using the same debit card for the past three years ...

Even with a few bad choices in hardware, and a LOT of unvapeable juices in the first few months until I found Halo, my average total expenditure over 36 months is about $90/month, compared to the $240/month I spent previously on analogs. My average in the last 12 months is down to about $60/month ...

I also calculated that I have avoided paying about $2800 in federal excise tax, and $2500 in state tax. That's for just one ex-smoker ...

No wonder the politicians are so upset with us .. :D

I forgot how much I spent ryo I bought the two pound bags of not ridiculously over taxed tobacco; and the Zen tubes. I used a Zippo because nothing was worse than on a windy, cold day trying to get a bic to stay lit. I always tell people that vaping isn't necessarily cheaper and price shouldn't be the main reason why you want to switch.

I had a couple top-o-matics with custom kydex hoppers and a kydex spill and refill tray I made.

When I finally decided I didn't need them anymore, I wound up giving away 2+ 5 pound bales of tobacco and dozens of various tube cartons.

Wife threw away the top-o-matics and the tray. I couldn't believe it.

I could make a carton and be all cleaned up in about 30 minutes.
