I posted some time ago of aspire batteries acting up. They looked very 'nice', but took a day and a half to charge, and by now they hold too little charge.

Will a mod last longer from using separate batteries?

Do all/most mods use the same type of batteries?

And, if i mainly need a reliable one, and one that can fit an aspire clearomizer, which one/s out of the apparently 100s of available mods on the market would do, or will pretty much any of them do? I don't need many bells & whistles, such as a led screen, just something that works, and keeps working, and produces a decent amount of vapor.

The Aspire claromizer is an ego thread right. So pretty much most any Ego thread battery will work. And pretty much any 510 threaded battery or mod with a 510/ego adapter would work.

There are mods like the Eleaf Istick 30w or 40w with built in battery. or mods without builtin battery. Majority of those seem to be 18650 batteries though some use other batteries like a 26650.

Or you could just go with an EGO stick battery with variable voltage or variable wattage.

Yea, using another stick battery I wouldn't want to due to these experiences. I thought using a mod with replaceable batteries, thou not sure whether it'd be more expensive long run. How do vapers pick mods in general. There are so many brands, knowing which ones to stay clear of might be a start, or which ones aren't overpriced. I'm reluctant now due to these aspire batteries that were so hyped, but disappointed from the outset. Like there's always an 'issue' every now and then, whether charging time, or coil problems, at least if the battery/ies were reliable i could focus just on the coil and juice replacements. might just check out some reviews, thou it's been said they're often rigged.

No matter what battery you use. It will die eventually. If you get a mod with built in battery, the entire mod will die once the battery dies. How long it lasts depends on how many times it is run down and recharged.

The Eleaf isticks like the 30w are good devices and are 2200 mah so unless you chain vape should probably last you all day or maybe even two with a claromizer attached. They will take anywhere from 2 1/2 hours to 4 hours to recharge. You should be able to get one for around $24 or so. Might last 1 to 2 years, mileage varies.

If you get into a mod with external batteries, the device will probably hold up as long as it is a decent brand. The 18650 batteries will last you depending on how much they are used and how many times they are recharged. Might last two years or even more. You would need to get safe genuine batteries and a charger for them as well. You would probably need at least two batteries so that you can have one ready to go while the other charges. They take 4 to 7 hours to charge.

The Eleaf Istick pico 75 is a popular 18650 battery mod. It can be purchased for around $30 to $35 dollars. Then the batteries would run you anywhere from $6 to $12 each depending on the battery you bought and where you got it.

There are a lot of FAKE items out there so make sure it is real and not counterfeit.

You don't really need anything heavy duty for that claromizer.

There is a lot of information in the battery thread here about safer batteries and where to get them online.

Thanks for clearing that up, oh, and should've remembered to use 'mod box'. Looking at the istick 50w atm, might go for it, and hope for it to be better than the aspire stick bats, which i get the sense it is, as far as faster charging time and longer charge. I took it external vs built in battery isn't that big of a difference as far as charging capacity, and have read of exploding batteries, so an internal battery from a good brand i guess removes that worry.

The Isticks are protected mods so not likely to be a problem. It should shut down before there was an issue with overheating, over discharging, short circuit, etc.

Even changeable batteries are generally safe as long as they are regulated devices and you use them with some of the batteries recommended in the battery thread.

Mechanical mods without protection are more risky.

You won't be stressing the mod battery with the claromizer so even less likely to be risky.

At 4400 mah the Istick 50w will probably last you 2 or 3 days on a charge unless you are a chain vaper. Probably takes around 5 to 6 hours to recharge from discharged state.

If your clearomizer is only ego threaded and not 510 threaded, be sure you mod comes with a 510-to-ego adapter or buy one separately.

Cool, now incidentally I found a 40w for about $10 less than the 50w, would the price difference make it worthwhile in power/charge compromise u think?

As for the ego, interesting you mentioned that, as the description mentions it comes with an adapter, so that's well.

The 40W has a 2600 mah battery. The higher the mah, the longer the battery will last between charges and the longer it will take to recharge. That should last you for all day unless again you chain vape.

The watts won't make any difference to you for the clearomzier you are planning on using. You will be using somewhere between 5 and 9 watts on the claromizer. The coils used in the claromizer are what 1.6, 1.8 or 2.0 ohm?

Just make sure whatever you buy is from a trusted place and verifiable as authentic and not counterfeit.

cool, i will check the wattage of my current aspire sticks first and compare, and then go for either, thanks for your help.
