You have some valid points and I do appreciate the reply. Please allow me to elaborate a bit.
I personally would never post that I want a device for 8 watts out of a 100 watt
The post was misinterpreted. 8w is what I'm using most of the day. It is the balance I've found with the particular atty. vs. maintenance vs. sufficient nicotine. I don't want to jack with it when I have work to do. At other times the wattage could be much higher. This isn't so much for me either. It's for friends, family and anyone else that likes low wattage vaping. As I've mentioned, there others here that have been vaping for some time and prefer a low wattage. This could come down to gauging interest. The chip has two things that I like. It can buck the voltage all the way down to 1v and it has a flat dc output. This isn't common and it will run nearly anything out there. No interest in high wattage here, just a high quality experience with a long battery life.
an ego twist @ up to 12watts would be way more than sufficient.
This isn't what I've experienced with low cost devices. Some problems I have with most of them:
Disposable or battery isn't easily serviced.
Poor reliability.
Poor regulation.
Battery quality and charge circuit is questionable.
It's like buying a baby a lambroghini
meh
Once again the ego has very small size and huge run times for its size.
lol
Think of it as an optional teenager/valet lockout. All the power can be there if the device layout and battery can support it. The goal here is to make it safe for nearly all very high capacity batteries. Low voltage protection is one thing, the amp limit of the battery is another. Does anyone know if the chip will protect a battery with something like a 10A limit IMR? I'm not reading that it's able to do so. I'm not interested in parallel batteries due to size and safety concerns. The current chips are shipping at 50w(?) with 25A max draw.
Check out the sx 350 posts in this section there are some really cool builds specifically the acrylic builds..
I've seen a few Hammond boxes with clear and smoked covers. Still rummaging around for ideas.
Thanks for listening to my ramblings.
Note:
A YiHi rep did get in touch with me. I've made very little traction with my questions so far. That was expected, but they do respond.
