Coil resistance has absolutely nothing to do with battery life in a regulated mod. ;)

Well.. the lower the resistance someone uses the higher the watts they tend to use and the lower the battery life generally, and more juice....

You're not going to drive a 0.5 ohm coil at the 10 or 12 watts you're likely to use for a 1.8 ohm coil.. 100 3sec puffs at 20w will drain twice as much from a battery as 100 3sec puffs at 10w...

Dual 28ga 0.5Ω coil in the Pindad requires 28W to hit a heat flux of 250, where a dual 24ga 0.5Ω coil in the Goon requires 113W to hit a heat flux of 250...

Both builds are the same resistance with totally different power requirements. My comment was in regards to just the resistance alone is not a determining factor for battery life.

A few days back when I received my Vapcell 18350's and before I made them flat tops I ordered another Vapcell 18350. It was an earlier 10 amp version. The picture on the web site of it was of a flat top but it said button top, I missed it again. So it arrived yesterday and was another nipple top. But this one had it's insulator and nipple installed then wrapped with a clear wrapper over top of the purple wrapper. All I had to do on this one to make it a flat top was to pull off the clear wrap, remove the insulator (sticker) and pop off the nipple.

Yeah I have thousands of posts to catch up on. Never take a vacation. Too much work!
Well I hope that you did really relax :) Vacations can sometimes be more work...especially people that take a week and then fly somewhere...often ends up being more stress than relax :(

Deep breaths on the Billet Box now.....:D I've got three SXK now and one authentic :)

I finally got a working flat wire coil going. I put in into a Kanger RBA. I wrapped the wire the whole way around the post screws. It's something like 5 wraps with 3 mm ID, not much info without wire size but I forgot what it was. It couldn't handle 30 watts but at 20 watts it felt just like 30 did with the twisted 28. I'm pretty sure it will be another 3 - 4 years before I mess with it again, while it works real good it's a serious pain in the ... to get it set up. I just couldn't let it get the best of me.
Edit: I can't believe they censored my "a" with 2 dollar signs.

The vapeshell is slightly easier with flatwire :)

I'm using Ni80 fused higerclapton 2.6 ohms/foot in my vapeshell. 6 wraps comes out to about 0.6 ohms. Working pretty well
Yes I use a slightly lighter one which is 3.0 ohms a foot so you can build a bit higher...its a must have with BBs imo
:)
