I'm fairly sure it updated to SP6 when I first connected it, I'm not sure what it was before...
That's the latest and I'm not sure what mine were before either. Mine were March and may.

If there's an update available it shows that on the Escribe interface on the toolbar on the left and you have to tell it to install the update.

Again, just for me personally, I wouldn't be able to stand knowing there were updates available, especially if there were several versions, and couldn't get them without jumping through some significant hoops. To me, spending more money and having to do some soldering, are significant hoops.

I've never seen an authentic, except online, but I gotta say. The SXK clones are "good enough."

I've had minor teething issues with both my new SXK rba's...

The Crossbow, the airflow was way too tight, I discovered the air hole through the side of the 510 thread wasn't lined up with the hole through the plastic insulator inside, I ran a 1mm drill bit into the hole by hand and it cut a sliver of plastic out of the insulator so the hole was clear all the way through, the air flow is good now..

I checked my spare crossbow (which I haven't used yet) , it appeared ok, the insulator was lined up... The screw up through the bottom wasn't tight though, I inserted the drill bit in the hole while I tightened the screw so the insulator stayed lined up..

If anyone else has an issue with tight airflow and you don't have a small drill bit to run through the hole, you could probably line up the holes by loosening the pin/screw, then poke a paperclip through the hole and wiggle it around to line up the insulator, then re-tighten the screw..

And the Insider V2, that was all going well until I gave it a clean and rebuilt it with a 1.2ohm SS316L coil, soon after the draw got tight and then I got a "check atomizer" error, when I pulled it apart I discovered the airflow insert had dislodged and it was resting against the coil, it had shorted the positive coil leg and caused it to burn out... The airflow inserts seem to stay in place if there's a bit of juice on them but because I had cleaned it and it was basically dry it had come out...

Looking at photos of my first nichrome build from when I pulled it out I've just realized the wick was probably keeping the insert in place , it was quite a narrow 3mm ID coil so the wick was touching the insert, the spaced 2.5mm ID 9 turn SS coils I wound were significantly wider, about the same width as the airflow insert, so the wick probably wasn't touching the insert which is why it came out so easily:

Since I'm unlikely to change inserts, next time I pull it apart I might give the insert a light squeeze with side cutters so they leave a bit of a scar on it so it's a tight fit in the hole and cant come out accidentally in future... If I don't get too heavy handed with the side cutters I should still be able to get a small screwdriver under the edge to pry it out if I do need to change it...
Not trying to shill for other sites, but if you guys haven't yet, take a peek across the pond at the POTV Billet Box forum. They have some seriously eggheaded BB experts over there too. One of them also had this issue with the inserts and the airflow on the SXK Crossbow and figured out a way to turn it like you did. Mine was ok.

I don't have a V2 Insider. I do have the first one.

Yeah, the SXK stuff has been good,so i hope this one follows suit, although hearing good things on the YFTK version,i had to order it too,for comparison reasons haha.
I really wish you had them already :D I can't get both and I'm afraid by the time I make up my mind both will be sold out.

I am getting an odd liquid build up on the button side of my (SXK) BB (Rev4). I see juice on the black plate that is the 'back' of the positive pin. I remembered seeing something in this thread (around page 54-55 ?) where you had the same issue. I checked closely and saw that there was a tiny amount of juice in the battery compartment, which is apparently running down to the positive pin and leaking through to the back (button side).
I use some rayon under the boro tank, not a condensation plug.
How did you fix this?

Once I got clear panels on my BB, I could see what was happening. A stream of vapor was leaving through a seam of the condensation plug across to the battery. It would build up there and leak to the other side. I quit using condensation plugs and used JMK tips and no problems since.

Hey there:). I'm just getting interested in a SXK BB. I'm interested in rebuildables so would these be a good place to start?

I've used the Vapeshell a lot (have Authentic and clone versions) and I'm using the Insider today. Both are great RBAs. The Vapeshell has probably slightly better flavour at it's best but is a little harder to wick IMO when using 70/30 vg/pg. The Insider is a breeze - just don't use too much cotton!
I use 3mm id fused claptons at about 0.6-0.8 Ohms in both attys.

I found that using 2.5mm coils on the original Vapeshell makes wicking easier. Much easier.

I don't condensation plugs either- just dry it out with tissue or cotton buds once every 2 days. Never had liquid anywhere it shouldn't be

Well, I ordered a YFTK Xeta from 3F. While I was over there I had to have the clear panels they have on sale and one of those DIY coiling tools.

I picked up my clear panels today, it's great being able to see the tank level and battery % without having to pull a panel off:

i do like my clear panels but i also still like lifting the solid ones and peeking in to see liquid level etc...odd, i know.

Got my SXK Xeta clone today, all i can say is wow.None of the other rebuildables have really done it for me,so i found my BB happiness with Kanger ssocc heads, but that has now changed haha, the Xeta is a fantastic vape.I'm a dl vaper and running this Xeta with no inserts gives me a very nice lightly restricted dl vape. Now,i really can't wait for the YFTK version to ship and get here to compare them.

I'll tell ya what. You can get some decent DL cloudage outta the Exocet. not saying it's better than the Xeta, I haven't tried it yet, but just throwing it out there.

The guy over at POTV is a regular with a lot of BB experience. He has an OG and a YFTK. He says he can't tell them apart. On the other hand SXK has been good to me. I only ordered a YFTK because it was available now on 3F and I also wanted those panels and that tool.

Here's a little tidbit though. On Fasttech if you go to the page for either the YFTK or the SXK, the drop down selection menu let's you choose between the two. Makes me wonder if they're made in the same place and therefore the same thing. .
