Sure Nikkita you can use my pics;), yes the 510 is fairly basic atleast its self adjusting I am waiting to see what they have done with new new non slotted version but in truth given what I know about YiHi i think its no different same threaded 510 screw and mech. Ironically the phenolic material as its known here Tufnol is the same used on the Yosen and HotCig Zero clones! The 510 is stainless steel not sure what grade probably 304 Yihi could of easily used what HotCig Zero (Varitube 510 rip off) and Infinite are/will use on there SX style Zero clones. It maybe a licensing issue who knows none of the Chinese self adjusters have been particularly of high quality unless they have directly copied ie Varitube.

Given its design I doubt you can fit a FDV as there is no clearance as the YiHi is completely flat at its base this is neither the case with many of the self adjusters where the base protrudes and the ouput wire needs clearance to move.

Ironically the HotCig Zero clone in the pic uses a Varitube rip off which is much better than the YiHi. There are a few issues with the mini as you can see the board is screwed into the Aluminium chassis with steel screws atleast 2 of these were just turning on one of mine as steel into Aluminium is pretty much a no go. The screws are tiny and Aluminium is too soft and just strips the threading.

The soldered 510 joint could easily fracture as the 510 is moving causing stress, the fire button is the standard one supplied when you buy the board YiHi have manufactured a brushed steel button using compression foam this is why some people have an off centred button dependant on how the button is pressed and I guess as the foam ages you may see the button lose it springiness or at worst collapse.

I remember someone posting about the mini being high end not here in the UK excluding the lower tier and non clones the mini is around RRP £150 or approx $US230 I will be completely honest and say there is no box mod / gripper I have seen that didn't have design faults I can only dream of power station specs on one but then again it may cost £500. I recently saw a Neo dna 40 from De Rayyan Design $350 + shipping + customs the Yosen Zero was better made!

LOL, it's not the prettiest thing, but it sure is functional. I took out the Silverplay tank and glass section, and slid over it a Big Fogger glass tank and used some O-rings to make the seal. It increased the juice capacity to 7ml while retaining the same air flow and height of the Silverplay.

Nice, a Goblin! They are hard to find. How do you like your Goblin compared to Silverplay? Which do you like better as far as the performance goes? And I have to ask this to gauge your build and vape style you used to judge their performances, what wattages do you usually vape at? I had a chance to play around with a friend's Goblin, but I couldn't quite tell what it could do at high wattages. He had it set up for mouth-to-lung at 20w/1.5ohms. I am a big lung-to-lunger, and as far as 50+watt vaping on RTAs go, Silverplay can't be beat. It wicks so miraculously, and flavor is spot on.
I like them both, the build deck of the Goblin can limit a lot though, the Silverplay deck size is sooo much better.
The Goblin is MUCH smaller. I run the Goblin at 50w, cant get it higher without getting dry hits, I havent perfected wicking I guess.
The Silverplay I run at 60+ watts

Oh I love you, you rock! Yes, as I examined your pics I recognized the phenolic material (resin fiberglass) and it appeared to be exactly like the inner housing on the DNA Zero clone. Apparently this material is commonly used in electrical applications, so it is appropriate I guess, I was just surprised by how unsophisticated the construction of it appeared. There is nothing wrong with basic and functionally effective, I was just expecting more.

However, I do agree that absolute perfection is an unreasonable expectation, but there are a few errors in assembly that could easily be fixed if QC was up to high end standards. The misalignment's of the steel sleeve and frame specifically. The overall design of the device is better than the two devices that it borrows style from (ZNA and Wapari), the SXmini has the better aesthetics and ergonomics.

Thank you again for letting me use pics of the 510 :D

rounding third and heading home...
i look at the insides of mods like sausage- i don't really need to know what makes it work and what it looks like as long as it works and is reliable. the outside of the sx mini is just perfect for me and my hands so that is all i care about. let others dissect the insides- i want to set it, push the button and vape. so far it hasn't let me down .....

I don't think of my mods as sausages  But I do agree with you though, as long as it works as it is meant too and lasts, then I am very happy with the mini :)

Built a light box this afternoon and figured I'd let the SX Mini have the honors of the first photos. I still need to play with my lighting arrangement but not terrible for a first attempt with my iPhone. I need to find the tripod for my camera.

Anyway, SX Mini rocking a Dark Horse:

I scored an Angelcigs clone for ~20 bucks during one of their Happy Hour specials. No idea who made it, but it's very well put together and performing flawlessly, even with what I would consider a quick-and-dirty build. The original is on my short list of Q1 2015 purchases now. If it makes me end up putting my authentic KFL's out to pasture, it's only fair. :)

Do you think angelcigs has only 1 supplier "maker" of their clones.. ? probably hard to tell

Some pics anyone have a teardown on the new flat 510.
thank you very very much, ZeroOhm!!
excellent detailed pics, plenty of very valuable info.
now i think i know how to open the case and access to the pin, not breaking the ground soldering. so will be able to reinsert the spring, and to replace the broken upper gasket with something similar. thanks once again!!

shot of the pin. Different 'housing' for the pin if I am not mistaken. I don't have the first wave version so I am only judging by pics I saw posted.

humm, it seems they have replaced the phenolic upper gasket (at least) for a gasket made of a different material

Yeah the new one does have the white gasket around it, don't think that the phenolic material under the gasket is any different than before. Maybe ZeroOhm will crack a new one open for us? :p
