thank you very very much, ZeroOhm!!
excellent detailed pics, plenty of very valuable info.
now i think i know how to open the case and access to the pin, not breaking the ground soldering. so will be able to reinsert the spring, and to replace the broken upper gasket with something similar. thanks once again!!

humm, it seems they have replaced the phenolic upper gasket (at least) for a gasket made of a different material
No worries I messaged you ages ago about sending you a gasket. Ah I have made up some new gasket/insulators from nylon and this PIC looks like it maybe the same;)

It could be delrin/peek/nylon or acetol but knowing YiHi they have done a quick fix the only issue is the melting point but the 510 pin should not really get to the melting point so delrin and definitely peek is over kill IMHO.

I am getting some acetol ones made up but I pressure epoxied some nylon washers together m2 and m2.5 the m2 is 1mm thick and the m2.5s were 0.5mm.

It works well and I test vaped a copper Mutation X .5 ohm @ 50W for an hour the 510 pin did not go past 60C so well within the melting point of the nylon I think acetol is around the same.

Do you think angelcigs has only 1 supplier "maker" of their clones.. ? probably hard to tell

Yeah, there's no telling. Probably not, as I've noticed that when one of the Chinese suppliers is trending with vapers (like Infinite was last year), they tend to stock up on items from that supplier and advertise them as that particular "brand."

Their Aqua II is working great for me, with the only downside being that it didn't come with spare deck screws; only o-rings and insulators. So if you're looking to run it single coil, you'll need to provide your own hardware to plug off an air channel. Luckily I have a box full of 316SS pan head machine screws that I got last year to replace some rust-prone fasttech screws and they fit perfectly into the airholes on this deck.

Hey retrox I have an Aqua V2 on the way from FT do you have the size of those coil screws so I can grab some or figure if I have some around!

Most, if not all, of the AquaII versions from FT come with the extra screws. I have one of the "OEM" versions and also got a Tobeco. The Tobeco had both deck air holes capped off with a screw...and so tight I had to freeze it to get them out. But it works like a charm.

Good to hear, Raja. I'm expecting an Aqua "OTM" from FT any day now. I plan on a single coil build with the unused channels blocked with cotton. Do you find the single coil vape good?

Just got mine Friday Petemoss, you're going to love it. The flavor and vapor this topper produces is insane!

I broke down and went dual @ .9 and I'm not sure I could go back to a single coil.

Single coil works great. Much better flavor than a KF IMO. Filling is the only drawback I have found on this. Just because a needle tip or thin tipped bottle is required. The needle tip is perfect, but slow. I have thin tipped juice bottles that work with a little practice. It is well worth the effort to me, and really not an issue, just saying.

Is this your replacement? I can send you a made up insulator works fine on mine;) I'm half Spanish got to help a bro out!
well, it's my whole replacement, lol: i ordered a new one :p i'm in a crush with this thingy..

so sorry i didn't get notification of your message (i ought to surf and check through the forum settings), my bad.
thank you very much for all you are doing and sharing about the sxmini, and for your offer of sending me your handmade gaskets! =)))
you know i used a red silicon o-ring of 1.5mm thickness, as a temporal fix. it should resist till 200ºC before melting, in theory (let's say 120ºC..); anyway, i'm not using higher wattage than 20w yet.
i'd gladly accept your gasket, guess i'd repeat your research of nylon washers, plus modding them to get the perfect fit. you've already done that work, that combination of M2 and M2.5 washers to get the 1.5 thickness must fit like a glove, thumbs up. so i'm going to answer your message right now. one thousand thanks! =))

The new 510's may solve a problem I am having with the Taifun GT II pos pin getting backed out when I unscrew it from the mini. At first I thought it was just being tightened down too much, but I think that's not the case. Would be willing to bet the flat 510 would fix that. Can anyone tell I'm looking for excuses to buy a second mini? ;)

You probably don't need an excuse to buy a second one! I think the smooth 510 eliminates the possibility of the grooved surfaces 'catching' on each other under pressure. In the old style, if you are putting an adjustable (slotted) positive pin up against the slotted 510 (spring loaded as well) in the Mini there is a chance they catch and begin to unscrew your pos pin on your tank. Just a thought, I have no proof since I have the smooth 510 Mini version.

Sure Nikkita you can use my pics;), yes the 510 is fairly basic atleast its self adjusting I am waiting to see what they have done with new new non slotted version but in truth given what I know about YiHi i think its no different same threaded 510 screw and mech. Ironically the phenolic material as its known here Tufnol is the same used on the Yosen and HotCig Zero clones! The 510 is stainless steel not sure what grade probably 304 Yihi could of easily used what HotCig Zero (Varitube 510 rip off) and Infinite are/will use on there SX style Zero clones. It maybe a licensing issue who knows none of the Chinese self adjusters have been particularly of high quality unless they have directly copied ie Varitube.

Given its design I doubt you can fit a FDV as there is no clearance as the YiHi is completely flat at its base this is neither the case with many of the self adjusters where the base protrudes and the ouput wire needs clearance to move.

Ironically the HotCig Zero clone in the pic uses a Varitube rip off which is much better than the YiHi. There are a few issues with the mini as you can see the board is screwed into the Aluminium chassis with steel screws atleast 2 of these were just turning on one of mine as steel into Aluminium is pretty much a no go. The screws are tiny and Aluminium is too soft and just strips the threading.

The soldered 510 joint could easily fracture as the 510 is moving causing stress, the fire button is the standard one supplied when you buy the board YiHi have manufactured a brushed steel button using compression foam this is why some people have an off centred button dependant on how the button is pressed and I guess as the foam ages you may see the button lose it springiness or at worst collapse.

I remember someone posting about the mini being high end not here in the UK excluding the lower tier and non clones the mini is around RRP £150 or approx $US230 I will be completely honest and say there is no box mod / gripper I have seen that didn't have design faults I can only dream of power station specs on one but then again it may cost £500. I recently saw a Neo DNA 40 from De Rayyan Design $350 + shipping + customs the Yosen Zero was better made!

The SXmini is what it is.. The only production device currently available with the SX350 Mini board.. The SXmini is extremely accurate.. It pretty much delivers exactly what is shown on the screen. It's real-time resistance reading, real-time battery voltage / sag reading, and 5 memory slots have been welcome features to me. These features (the others as well), and the overall great build quality makes me feel that I have a "real" vaping device.. Not like most of the other popular "toy-like" production devices available. ;) I slide a fresh battery in this mod, and know that I'm going to get a smooth, consistent, vape.. Each and every draw until the battery is burnt down to 3.3v.. :vapor:

As for the board's switch being used, ProVape has used this same design successfully in the ProVari for years. In fact, the ProVari's button even has some play (no rattles) like the SXmini..

I continue to have no buyer's remorse whatsoever for the SXmini, and consider it one of my best mod purchases to date. The issue I had with the cracked 510 gasket could have very well been my doing from experimenting with a couple of longer nipple-top batteries I had around, or just from cranking down one of my attys with a longer 510 connector than most others, and not paying attention.. The fact that YiHi took care of my RMA, and had a brand-new SXmini in my hand within a week is even more reinforcement for no buyer's remorse. ;) Just by paying a little closer attention, my current connector gasket still looks like new after over a week now.

I would like to see some offerings from other mod-makers using the SX350 Mini board.. A bottom-feeder would be sweet. ;)

Hi Marc! Roxy convinced me that the Aqua is worth getting. I'll try a single coil to start and maybe a dual coil later. I've always felt that dual coils waste a lot of juice and batteries but I want to try it to see for myself.

LMAO..... be careful with Roxy Pete she has mind control powers. I own two Rose and two Aqua's after talking to Ms. Noodle. It works better on me because I'm in Chicago, she's in Ohio. You have more miles between you so you might be able to fight it off.

Although she has never steered me wrong!
