taking black off of tornado??

hi ya'll this is my first post ever for this forum so here we go
I just purchased my first e-cig about two weeks ago and i love it! Ive been off and on analog cigs for a bit but i have mainly used the ecig so it looks promising. It is a black totally wicked tornado, well it started black and now it is a scratched up kinda black tornado thanks to my keys that i keep in the same pocket. I have heard talk about some e cig users that have been taking the black rubberized coating off of there e cigs and i wanted to know it that is possible, and if it is can somebody please tell me how to do it??

Nail polish remover will work, just keep it away from the button.

I have several attys that started out black and when they got too scratched up I just used my fingernail and scratched it the rest of the way off. Leaves them stainless steel.
