Taking the filler out of cartomizers for dripping

I have tried doing the Dogsbody carto conversion (saw the video, too) for dripping but I now have ruined three carts trying to get the filler out -- every one of them took the sock with them -- how do you prevent this? I read the thread and I didn't see anyone else having this problem.....

Ripple: this question is really hard to answer with out repeating what has been said in the video and thread as well.... you just have to be very careful..and practice makes perfect..
