Good evening,
I've been using Reo Grands for the past several months and it's been blissful. Prior to that I was using other mech mods w/ RDAs. Recently I got my hands on a used mini v1 for a reaaaaally decent price, threw on a nautilus I had laying around and began to play. I've really been enjoying it, and even took out my neglected Fogger to experiment with. I've really been enjoying it.
Now, I have the opportunity to get my grubby hands on a P3 in the next few days, again at what appears to be a good price. Although it still seems expensive, I understand the quality, reliability, and technology that is built into this product.
I've read through most of the P3 board on here, and everyone seems to be digging their new setups. I'm more of an RTA/rda vaper, rather than clearomizers, and I guess I'm just needing a push to actually purchase this P3. Or maybe I'm just convincing myself. Just like the title says, talk me into this P3!

I've had my P3 for about 3 months and I still love it. Since it sounds like you mostly build your coils rather than purchase them, the P3 only slightly works for sub-ohm. Depends on how low of ohm coils you build. I believe the P3 works as low as .7 sub-ohm. That being said.......this unit is still AMAZING! I figured since I purchased a Beta model, I would test the unit as much as possible to see how well it would hold up during every day use. Mine has accidentally fallen on the concrete 4 times. Still works as good as new and surprisingly barely got scratched (only a couple small marks). It also has a boost function which no other unit to date has. Gives a nice extra amount of VAPE without having to hold down the fire button forever. This unit is sturdy and made in the USA. Very nice since most of the products in this industry are made in China. Stop second guessing yourself and buy one. IT'S WORTH IT!!!!

Yep, I'll echo Prov P3T3. They're pretty sweet. I picked mine up a couple weeks ago. The challenge isn't with the device. The challenge is the topper. I'm a hardcore Reonaut like you, and have been using a Reo for a few months now. Prior to that I actually had a Provari 2.5, which I sold to fund the Reo. However, the P3 has been a planned expense since I bought the 2.5. The boost is pretty dang awesome, and works very well. It has to be like a 3 watt increase over your initial setting, but that's just speculation.

I'm pretty careful with my devices, so I haven't dropped mine yet. I have an Erlkonigin tank, which was nearly as expensive as the P3, so yeah, I'm gonna be pretty careful with a 450 dollar setup. That said, I'm trying to rehome the Erlkonigin and replace it with a Squape-R because I haven't been very successful with the Erlkonigin. I primarily run mine in 18350 mode and love it. I usually carry a spare 18350 with me when I'm out and about. The Squape-R is a dang monster and in 18650 mode, the P3 will have to be like a foot long lol, just a monster.

The P3, IMO is worth every penny. Sure, I run my Reo at .37 ohms which is about 40 watts, but if I'm using a regulated device, I don't need anything like that. If I want a high wattage vape, I'd rather use a mech or my Reo

It's not a tough decision on my part...

My thoughts about things like this are as follows:

I don't mind paying 50 dollars for a good steak dinner, But I won't spend 50 cents for that hotdog that fell on the floor!

Do Y'All want something that will last and have a great resale value? Buy an iPhone. If not, grab an android...

I didn't need much convincing, honestly. I understand the $250 price tag, and why it's there, and will never dispute that asking price. This will be my first Provari, after using (clone) mechs for sometime, and a couple Reos for the past 6 months. I think that's why I needed convincing, how ever minimal it was.
Honestly, my "search for the perfect vape" was over with the discovery of Reo, but seeing so many reonauts come from Provaris and STILL use them, I became curious. A VV/VW mod was in my future and I'm not sold on many of them out there.
I can't wait till the P3 arrives, I only need guidance on what to put on top of it now! I come from the land of RDAs, and have no love for RTAs.

You could start with a Silo tank and Aspire BVC coils.

Congrats from another hard-core REOnaut who just pulled the trigger on a P3 today. :D

Seriously consider a ByLeo.eu Sophia [edit to add: with his STR15 drip tip] in a 22 mm XL IBtanked carto tank.

I'm so curious about the Sophia, one user had it in The Cage, and it looks amazing on the P3. Pricey, so I need to research things like durability, and draw type. I've never ran a carto tank before, only Rdas/clearos/rbas.

Provape has Cardos on sale for a buck each...

No better way to try em out.

Just keep in mind, That which costs a buck may be like, But will not be the same quality of The Sophia.

A raw aluminum REO Grand is my daily driver--6 ml of juice and an all-day 18650 in a tiny, rugged package as small as a pack of cigarettes. I use unflavored 24 mg/ml 50/50 with an 0.8Ω RM2 coil for work.

When working at home, I typically use lightly flavored DIY 24 mg/ml 50/50 in 35 mm Boge or IkenVape LR slotted cartos in a 19 mm x 35 mm IBTanked with stainless end caps (the Simplicity is 20 mm diameter). You can pay more for a carto tank, and there are prettier tanks, but you can't buy better quality.

I got the original Sophias with 10 mm base and 35 mm top tube for 45 mm total length and used them in my 35 mm tanks. For the shortest drip tip, I used an STR5 for a total of 15 mm outside the tank. I later got some 19 x 45 mm IBTanked tanks and use those with a STR15 drip tip.

I use the STR tips for two reasons. One, they're straight and the 15 maintains the seal on the top o-ring, so I can slide the tank up on it to remove and maintain the Sophia base. Two, I can slide the tank up over either of them, and tilt it to the side to refill without the need for a tank tool.

The P3 is going to get some 22 mm IBTanks and the Sophias, leaving the tiny Simplicity 18500 to use the 35 mm cartos. There are times at home when I just need the nic and am not paying attention to the quality of the vape. Cartos are perfect for that.

FWIW, I also drip NETs and GVC into bridged and bridgeless disposable attys, but they clog fast and get expensive. I bought the first Sophia to be a rebuildable version of those, and it didn't disappoint. After trying it with a tank, I was hooked and bought a second.

Hope this helps!

If you're a REO driver I won't bother trying to talk you into it. The moment I started using REOs I stopped using my ProVaris (all v2.5s) and my Kayfuns.

Frankly I don't get the P3 but I'm not trying to derail the discussion.

Fair enough. I've sold all my other mods to fund two Reos, and was contemplating a third. Had to give my head a shake.
They're two completely different pieces of equipment, with the only similarities being their dependability and cult like followings. I feel that these two different mods/ecigs are the best ones available.
This is intended to be my last mod purchase, and couldn't justify having 3 of the same. I'm glad I went with the P3, and would highly recommend it to any style of mod user.

I never thought the ProVari was worth the money with its technologically crude 7-segment display, cryptic error codes, and all the button press/pause sequences. The relatively delicate and slightly less powerful JoyeTech eVic put it to shame in user interface and with VW capability. Neither had a mech's deep sub-ohm power I initially needed to get off pipes and cigars.

I felt the same way SoftSell did after buying two Grands and four original RM2s--I had a backup and a backup RDA for each. I was contemplating a Woodvil, but it would've wound up as a piece of art. I bought the Super-T mech to have something more ergonomic than the REOs for dripping disposable attys and wound up with the Sophias.

Then I dropped off the forum and vaping just became something I did--not a hobby… until THE PROVAPE EMAIL the other day.

HOLY COW! They'd done everything I'd long predicted they'd do--20 watts, VW, OLED, straight top. I knew they'd stick with the sacred single button. They even included the tubes for 3 batteries and a proprietary adapter for semi-hybrid configuration.

Here's the deal… I'm vaping 0.8 - 2.0Ω on a mech now. I don't need a DNA 40 and the idea of a box mod that needs a tank on top instead of inside is just dumber than dirt from a REOnaut's perspective. I'm set for Vapeaggedon.

We don't know what the Obama FDA, much less a Republican Congress, is going to do. and getting a ProVari may not be as easy in the future. So I pulled the trigger. I suspect I may even buy a backup.
