Ok Groovers

You lot convinced me to switch to cartos a long while back. My current carto of choice is the Boge LR. (except on my Jessy, where I drip. And dripping tastes like crap for some reason on anything except my Jessy. Even if I use Jessy atties on my eGo. I have no idea what that's about. But anyway, for anytime I'm not just sitting on my .... watching tv, I find cartos more convenient, so I need to know about cartos).

So now I am reading about dual coil. So tell me - any good?

And clear cartomizers. What's the story?

So come on wise ones, educate me. Why should (or shouldn't) Elphaba switch to dual coil and / or clear cartomizers.

dual coil has twice the heat creating move vapor and a better overall experience. But requires more voltage then 3.7. It will still fire and work at that voltage but not efficiently. Clear is just a color choice they come in all colors. Folks just tend to like clear so they can see the fluids.
Now triple Coil on 6v??? wow :)

I have been using XL steel dual coil cartos, 1.5-1.7 ohm, for four months on eGo clones and roughstacks at 3.7 volts with no problems. Long life and plenty of vapor with little chance of burning are why they are the only cartos I use. I repeat, they work fine at 3.7 volts with a somewhat shorter battery life before recharge, and last for over a month of topping off with thinner juices like Halo. Much higher capacity, about 50+ drops on the initial fill with the XL, but they use juice at a somewhat higher rate.

I think clear cartos are a bit of a fad, but some people like being able to see their juice level, and the clear housings on most are removable allowing for better cleaning and in some cases filler replacement. The downsides are that the clear tubes may become loose over time and the housings crack with acidic juices like cinnamon or citrus, except for the newest opaque ones. In addition as they get used some juice gets brownish and is none too pretty.

If you're happy with the Boges, you might want to try a dual coil but maybe through a trade so you can find out without buying a pack. Seems ECF members are split about evenly between the two. Good luck and be sure another new thing is coming any day...
