Hi all. I started vaping in January to help kick smoking. 6 months and change later I am still cigarette free.

I am looking for some help regarding tanks. When for the first started vaping I had a pretty hard time getting gear that consistently worked. I finally ended up with a ego-V v2 mega and aspire et-s bdc tanks. The setup didn’t provide mass vapor but it got the job done.

Three weeks ago the ego was dying so I decided to up my game and purchased a Vamo V5 and Two Aspire Nautilus tanks. I also bought an itaste 134 mini for the simple reason that it looked really cool.

For the first two weeks I mainly used the Vamo and a nautilus and all was fantastic. The setup was just pumping vapor. I actually had to lower the lever of nicotine I was using. Then things turned bad.

The first issue was that the nautilus suddenly started flooding, a lot. No matter what I did I was taking the tank apart to blow into the coil about every ten minutes. I tried new coils and it still happened. Good thing I bought two right? Problem is that with the second tank I get very little vapor no matter what the setting of the vamo or the nautilus.

I hit the forums and read that the coils for the nautilus have some issues but in the last week I have used 8. I finally broke down and bought a aerotank mega. Different issues. Every juice seems really harsh and oh yeah, it floods too (nowhere near as much though) and it also doesn’t seem to like to work unless the tank is mostly full.

All of that is to say… I apparently don’t know what I am doing and I shouldn’t be using anything that a monkey can’t figure out. I have over $70 in, to me, useless tanks.

So my questions are.. 1- How do I get back to my two weeks of bliss with the Nautilus or 2- how do I fix the harshness of the aerotank or 3- What is a good monkey friendly tank to use? All I want to do is vape. I do not want to spend every 10 minutes fixing something.

Oh, I forgot to mention. The vamo died on me today. I am really, really not having a good time.

Congrats on going cigarette free :) Second: sorry about your Vamo. Third: sorry about all of these problems. Well, I've never used those tanks. One thing I do know is this, those are very popular right now. More than a few times I've seen quality go down on what ever is hot at the moment. Demand is high, supply is low, and quality suffers as production is cranked up. Hopefully someone on here can help you out. Here is what I can suggest :) get some Boge XL cartomizers or a Kanger EVOD clearomizer or perhaps both. Both of those products keep me content, and when I want to try something new...it's always good to have something around that is going to work. Sorry that I couldn't be of more help, and I hope things get better for you.

I want to help, but I don't know how...

Have you tried giving the tanks a thorough cleaning? Hot water n dishsoap, then a soak in some cheap vodka. Might investigate how to rebuild those coilheads. Better quality and more consistent vape than stock coils.

Sucks about the Vamo. I guess since you need a new mod check out the MVP2. It only goes up to 11 watts instead of 15, but it is simpler with its built-in battery and better quality construction. Should last you longer.

Good luck man, hopefully you will figure this out and get back to a good vape.

I've never used the nautilus nor a aerotank but have faithfully used protanks for the last year+. Just a shot in the dark for why your nautilus leaks is that maybe the tank orings that are on the top and bottom I assume they have like the protanks. Take the whole thing apart including removing and cleaning the orings. They all work on a vacuum and if juice gets past a oring then the seal is compromised and it will leak from not holding its vacuum (learned years ago that once liquid gets past a oring then the oring either has to be cleaned or replaced). I occasionally remove, wash and dry my PT2 glass orings and the seating area and reseat them in a clean environment and have had none of my PT2's leak. Don't clean the orings with alcohol cause it will degrade them but the seating area in the atty can be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol NOT rubbing.

I know this may not be exactly what you are looking for but aspire has made new coils that will work in your nautilus. I haven't tried them personally yet but it sounds like they are an upgrade from the old coils based on the reviews I have watched and they should be available in the US really soon if not already. My local B&M claims they will have them in this coming Monday 7/21. If you can get a hold of some of the new aspire BVC coils maybe they will fix your issue. In the meantime cleaning your nautilus tanks and trying new BDC coils may be your best bet.

I can't help you with the aspire but I do have an aerotank mega. A couple of things I have noticed with it is

1. I don't really like the new style enclosed coils that came with it. They really seemed to mute the flavor. You can use the double coil replacement coils from the protank 3's or the evod 2's. You might want to pick some of those up anyway if you feel like you want to try rebuilding or rewicking as I feel like Kanger is going to be switching over exclusively to the new coils to try and keep people from doing just that so as to keep the cash flow coming in. The wicks are exposed on the old style coils so they are easy to distinguish from the new enclosed ones. When they gum up on me and need replaced, I just remove the coil. Take out the wick, dry burn the coil, wash everything off and dry it, then rewick with sterile cotton. Make sure if you do that to put a few drops of juice on the new wick before reinstalling so as not to get a burnt cotton taste from it after you reinstall it. I've been using the original 5 coils I got with my EVOD 2 a month ago so its probably my fault that Kanger is changing the coils to make them harder to rebuild (sorry  )

2. The mega seems to function best for me with a really open, airy draw. If you have the airflow adjusted way down this might contribute to flooding and maybe the harshness you are experiencing. I have my airflow about 2/3 of the way open. This seems to be the sweet spot for me. I don't usually care for that open of a draw but it just seems to function better. The mega seems to whistle on me during the inhale so usually I just adjust the airflow down until it stops whistling and that has worked for me.

best of luck

If your vamo died, and you seem to be having a lot of trouble with bottom coils/clearos........maybe time to go in different direction:

Provari with carto tank
OR
REO bottom feeder mod w/RM2 RBA (I am old school and still use shorty 1.7ohm cartos or Cisco atomizers on mine cuz I don't build coils)

Both pricey but I am just giving you the 2 top setups that most people seem to like a whole lot and least complaints. And will last you many many years, bullet proof stuff.

Both those mods are made in USA, are top rated in medium price range without getting into the *really* expensive stuff, etc. Go to forum areas for them and see. :)

Just sounds to me like you and the cheapie stuff are not making goood companions, you will have a lot less headaches if you go in direction I just pointed you in........
