I'm looking at getting a new tank, but have no idea what I need to get started. I think I'd like to get one of the DCT tanks, but how do these go together?

From what I've found, I need pre-punched cartos, drip tips, and the tank... anything else?

Is there a brand I should definitely stay away from? I'd like to get this ordered soon so I have it before the Thanksgiving weekend, if at all possible.

Thanks!

Try Smoktek.com...you can get everything in one place and they have lightning fast shipping even on the weekends. If you order tonight it will ship tomorrow and you can specify priority mail.

I like their flanged xl carto tanks...you can get them with one, two or three holes (for some resistances).

If you use juices high in citrus or cinnamon stay away from pmma or plastic tanks they will cause them to crack or melt.Polypropylene and pyrex are best for those.

You also need a thin metal or plastic driptip thats the same size in diameter as the cartos all along its length. This will save your orings, you put that on BEFORE inserting your carto through the tank.

Hope that helps

I suggest you try an inexpensive yet high quality pyrex glass tank from http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tank-reviews/349222-ibtanked-pyrex-glass-tanks.html Prices start at only $20. Everything that you need can be ordered from the website. Glass tube in your choice of two diameters and two lengths, multiple choices of stainless steel or acrylic endcaps, pre-punched cartomizers in both lengths, and drip tips.

The above link is to a full review I did on these tanks. The vendor's website is within the review and includes numerous pictures of my own and other ECF members' tanks. These have become very popular quite quickly.

I personally prefer single coil cartomizers over the dual coil cartomizers. I also found the vivi nova type tanks to not provide the flavor that cartotanks can provide.

Beware of some tanks that use a clear plastic tube (polycarbonate). Certain flavors can crack or melt this plastic, most noteably cinnamon and citris flavors. There is a list here of these flavors known to crack or melt plastic here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tanks/219179-lets-make-list-juices-flavors-crack-tanks-ce2s-clearos-29.html#post7203876

I also highly recommend the following tank tool. You can see how to fill and assemble a carto tank in this video also.

I used carto tanks for a long time but I have found that the vivinovas are far easier. Its personal preference but I like them. Some people say the flavor is muted but for me the flavor is better with the vivinova than with any carto but I always build my own coils too. I can say that smoktech tanks are good and cheap but I cut all of my tanks down to fit shorter single coil cartos because I personally didint like the dual coil smoktech cartos.
