It seems as though my throat can only tolerate 6mg nicotine using either a CE3 or a Vivi Nova. I used 18mg in a CE3 @ 3.2 volts on my twist. After a week my throat felt raw and irritated, and my lungs felt constricted, like my asthma was acting up. And I also had more phlegm in my lungs. I switched to a Vivi Nova Mini using 12mg, and again my throat feels raw and irritated, even if I take baby hits. I've tried changing the voltage with the Vivi from 3.2 all the way to 3.8 and no difference. I tried 6mg on the Vivi for a few days and had no issues at all, except that I felt like I was getting no nicotine satisfaction whatsoever. Using pre-filled or self-filled cartos with 100%PG or 80/20 I can vape 18mg all day long without issue.

Has anyone experienced anything like this? Were you able to overcome it and still use the CE3 or Vivi? Or am I doomed to using cartos?

I have asthma also. VG seems to make me more congested, sometimes to the point where my nose even runs and runs. The one thing I find that really causes things to act up is heat. So if the voltage is too high or a clearo with a top coil where the heating element is closer to my mouth. A cooler vape definitely causes me much less throat and lung irritation. A carto usually has the coil closer to the bottom so maybe that is the issue with you too. Lemeeno if it helps.

Another thing you can try is after you release the firing button keep drawing in air so you mix some cooler non heated air with the vapor. I do that when I use T2s. Really makes a big difference for me

hmmmmm - that is funny - I recently got me a KGO and used a 1.7 ST carto with JC red oak (100% VG) Original. Talk about flavor, th and vpr.....but after all day - throat got scratchy and difficulty swallowing - nothing serious.....been vaping the same juice on a prosmoke for 3 months. Am thinking the vpr is much warmer and caused it.......could it be the same for you?

The Vivi, I'm using 2.4 ohms, and the CE3 was the 2.4-2.6 ohm model.

The juice that I was using in the CE3s was from Ms Ts, which has a higher amount of VG than PG, and during that week it did seem like my nose was running more. For that reason I went to an 80/20 on my new flavors, 12mg, whereas the Ms Ts were 18mg.

I have tried both bottom and top coil devices, both seem to irritate my throat above 6mg. Maybe I should try a DCT, or get some XL cartos and carry like 5 or 6 with me at all times. I just want to enjoy vaping. Is that too much to ask? :)

I don't know. I could try one of the 2.8 ohm coils that came with the Vivi and see what effect that has. But with using a twist I would think it would have zero affect on my throat since I can practically create the same wattage on a 2.4 ohm vs. 2.8 ohm coil. I did try going down to 3.2 volts with the 2.4 ohm Vivi, but there was very little flavor at that voltage. With these liquids I'm using they seem to come alive around 3.6-3.8 volts, which is only 5.40-6.02 watts. Isn't that considered a cool vape?

It's just frustrating because it took me 4 weeks to find a vendor who makes flavors I actually enjoy vaping, and now my delivery device irritates my throat.

Try a bottom coil clearo like the CE3 XL, maybe? Mine always have the coolest, smoothest hits I've ever got and they put off vapor like no other. They're even cooler than cartos. I don't really like top coil anythings, they all seem to run too hot once you turn them up to good-vape level.

I also am a strong believer that the vivi in stock form is absolute garbage. The idea and design of the tank are fantastic, but the way the coil/wick assembly is designed is just a little bit stupid. I've never owned one, but my friend has both versions of them and I don't like either one.

So youve never owned a vivi ... and used it longer then 10mins but their garbage and you hate them? looolol. I would strongly disagree and so would alot of others. it doesnt take a rocket surgeon to operate the vivi a 5min video teaches how.
I hate cartos to the fullest but I dont say their garbage.

I am going through a similar experience lately, i am switching between ego tanks and the CE2..and some how both are irritating my throat plus a runny nose, i am not too sure of the reasons yet although i have noticed these symptoms aggravate when the tanks overflow the juice and it travels up the air passage during vape, could it be that I am inhaling a lot of un-atomized e juice, need some sort of remedy to this soon...any pointers?

I'd check the resistance on the Vivi heads. I'm running a 2.4 head right now that is actually 2.9 ohms according to my Provari. It's possible that it's at a lower ohm than stated and giving a harsher hit.

Are you saying that your ProVari is reading the resistance incorrectly?
