Using smoktek VariCool at 5 volts, gives good th, warm vapor and lots of it, as long as carto is kept wet.

Problem is I am now going to thicker juice. From 70pg-30vg, going to 30pg-70vg, maybe higher vg as time goes by. What I notice is that it is harder to get the thicker juice to go into the carto from the tank. I do draw without firing first to help keep the carto wet. But maybe I should punch another hole? I did get a carto puncher tool from smoktek just haven't used it yet. Don't want to screw things up.

The cartos I'm using are smoktek 2.0 ohms cartos for tanks. Need to use tanks as I drive semitruck over the road, dripping too distracting.

Advice please. Thanks.

You should definitely punch another hold into your carto. If you don't then there isn't going to be enough juice flow. That can lead to a burnt carto really quickly. This is because a single hole will not allow the proper amount of juice in there. So, your filler material will get dry really quickly. Also, VG is known to create wicking issues. Since the juice doesn't get into contact with the little piece of cotton wrapped around the coil fast enough. Otherwise known as the "diaper".

So, it will be burnt rather quickly since the heat coming from the coil will burn it. It's in your best interest to punch two holes into your carto to decrease the chances of this happening. One thing I will say when punching holes into your carto. Is to be careful and not go overboard and puncture the air flow tube. That will lead to BAD leaking issues.

Hope that helps.

Agreed.

I'm not using thick juices but the higher settings burn up more juice than the hole can replenish. I have started with just making the exising whole a little bigger, if that's not enough I put a small whole on the other side as well. If you punch a cart that you pulled from a full tank you will have a mess at some point. Every time I have done this(only about three times so far) at some point the cart dumped a bunch of juice right out the bottom. If this happens just clear the wole and let it dry a bit and all should be well.

Good luck

I slot my cartos this way! 2 large slots work great for my 60/40 juice and carto stays nice and wet!

Thank you all, shoulda punched a couple of em a week ago. Extra hole really helps a gob, haven't burned either carto, not even close. Happily vaping some 20/80 Coffee-Chocolate mess I made now. Mellow.

This afternoon going to Home Depot and get PBusardo's suggested Dremel kit. He really explains things well, helps me.

Again, thank you all.

I'm not sure how I got caught up in 2 different threads on the same exact subject but will post this in both.

So I take the dremmel approach. What isn't explained well in Phils video is that you basically need to more or less shave a hole into the cart during the back and forth motion that he shows. I shorted out 2 carts because I just cut into them rather then "shaving" back and forth until a hole is revealed.

So I have a 2.5 dual coil and a 3 ohm boge each with a "small" hole on each side in tanks and using them and they both are producing air bubbles. Now when I say small hole, it seams small as you do it but to compare it to the tiny hole in the smoke tecs and it's rather large.

All is good so far, I have to see how they do in the long run.

When you do this, have a good light and a magnifying glass couldn't hurt either.
