Hey everyone. Sorry for another newb question. I was cleaning my EVOD tanks yesterday by taking them apart and dunking them in vodka. I noticed one tank was cloudy after I let it air dry. In my on stupidity, I thought it was just condensation so I put some liquid in it which MBV says it might damage tanks. But, the weird thing is it became cloud only after cleaning it with vodka. The e-liquid didn't make it cloudy.

I'm not getting any leaking or anything. Its just cloudy. Is it safe to still vape with it or should I pitch it?

You should definitely pitch it its a reaction that is leaching the BPA in the plastic. It was most likely from the juice you had in it prior to cleaning and the cleaning just made it more visible.

Known tank crackers - Cinnamon, Cherry, Citrus, Cola (also Rootbeer), Some licorice/anise flavors and apple. There are plenty others - but this is kind of a general well known chunk :)

Well, thats disappointing. I just bought it a couple weeks ago. Guess I'll need to pickup a few more Mini Protanks so this isn't an issue again.

If your evod is not glass then the ejuice caused the cloudiness and will eventually crack the tank and cause a leak. Vodka, Everclear, etc will not affect plastic in that way.
The tank is being disolved by your juice, so the disolved plastic material is becoming part of your vape. Can't say that sounds safe to me. The only tank I've had turn cloudy was trashed imediately.

And--surprisingly-bananas! :facepalm:

That said, there is no need to submerge tanks in good booze. ;) I wash my tanks with water. Booze is reserved for cleaning coils only. And other uses, of course. :D

I agree with my friend CreepyLady that it was probably the previous juice that started destroying the polycarbonate of the tank.

Before I knew anything about tank cracking juices, I made the mistake of putting cinnamon in a plastic tank. All seemed fine until I washed it. After that, I noticed the tank was destroyed on the inside. I immediately ordered a Protank 2. It was definitely the juice, not the cleaning. I rarely use anything but glass now. Plus, the flavor is better with any of my liquids, imo.

Get the glass upgrade to the evod: miniprotank2;

Completely disassemblable, so you can PROPERLY clean it.
