Yes, some plastics react negatively to some liquids (cracking). Glass tanks remedy the issue.

Yes. Acidic juice will attack polycarbonate. Cinnamon or fruit flavors will cloud, crack, or even melt polycarbonate tanks. Polypropylene tanks are less reactive, but taste funny. Glass or steel is best for purity and durability
Plastic can stain, crack, or even react with certain liquids. Cinnamon and strong citrus like lemon tend to cause the most problems.

One of the biggest differences is in the reaction department. Juices that contain high amounts of things like cinnamon or citrus can easily crack or etch plastic tanks, causing you to have to replace them. You will also hear a lot of people warn you about the potential hazards of brass or chromed brass vs. stainless steel in atomizers due to the potential chemical reaction between the brass, your liquid and the heat from your coil.
glass is just better honestly. no worries about cracking or melting. but their a bit fragile if they hit the floor haha. minor though just pay attention to your device and no problem

My pyrex IBTanked cartotanks have proven to be pretty durable against drops. I have a habit of keeping my PV on my lap when driving, and sometimes I forget to grab it when getting out of the car. Several times the PV drops to the driveway, with nary a crack or chip on the IBTanked.
Not saying to not take normal precautions...these are glass after all. However, OCD has fitted rubber washers between the caps and the glass of his tanks, which he believes helps prevent accidental cracking of the glass against drops. No other tank manufacturer does this. I have over a dozen of these cartotanks and over a year's time none have cracked with any impact.

All I buy are glass/pyrex tanks. I don't want to have to worry about e-liquids melting my tanks and I trust glass more than plastic when it comes to my health.
Funny, I was just asking about those little rubber washers last week. It was advised to leave them on!!
Another vote for glass tanks (or stainless steel). Although I have a few plastic devices in my collection, nowadays I only buy glass and SS just because I'd rather not have to worry about what the juice will do to my tank.
I can't vape out of plastic. Glass all the way. Only downside is the cost, but you get what you pay for.
I guess it depends on what you vape. I use mostly unflavored, so I prefer plastic...lighter, more durable, and usually cheaper.
glass is soooo much heavier... for that reason i typically use my plastic ones but will use glass if i am home
Every one of my 6 eVods eventually fractured in the plastic guts, but my DIY juices are like the acid from Alien. Only thing that fractures my glass tanks is my own clumsy fingers.
