hi!

i'm looking for an idiot-proof tank that "just works". ideally with no leaking, consistent and reliable hits, offering decent value -- not necessarily cheap, e.g. more money upfront for a longer-lasting tank/coils counts. other priorities: minimal noise (like whistling from airflow-control ring or gurgling), minimal spitback, usable on a steep angle/upside-down if possible, capacity >3mL, diameter <= 25mm. standard drip tip and replaceable tube would be great, and i'd rather not vape >30W. bonus points if it's appropriate for someone who's pathologically clumsy.

i have two styles of vaping: regular (max vg) and stealth (max pg). in both cases i use flavourless liquid and don't care about clouds so those aren't priorities at all. aesthetics don't matter either, within reason. for regular (max-vg) vaping i'm happy to use more pg if a tank needs it for wicking etc.

my first tank was an aspire nautilus with steel tank -- brilliant, indestructible, still in use. then i dipped my toes into subohm and tried the original uwell crown and obs crius, but both had leaking issues (poss. just my cluelessness). i also had a kanger subohm tank that i lost almost immediately, so i got frustrated and settled on the aspire pockex aio which i've been using ever since.

a friend loaned me her joyetech cubis 2 which i'm liking, but it has trouble wicking if i screw the coil in too tight, similar to my experiences with joyetech's aio. my brother swears by his innokin isub g which i also liked. so that's on the radar, but i'm looking for newer options too, just overwhelmed by the number of options. even for innokin aside from the isub g: isub s, isub apex, isub v... smh.

mods? i use an innokin coolfire pebble battery with the nautilus for stealth vaping and have an eleaf pico dual for at-home/subohm use.

so, any subohm tank with my criteria stand out as a dependable winner for you all? thank you for your time and any suggestions you might have. :))

It's hard to recommend gear as what is good for me might not be good for you.

The three tanks I've had the most joy with are as follows:

Serpent Mini - single coil only, restricted DTL, very reliable and great flavour - 22mm
Bellus - Dual or single coil, removable deck, can be a bit tricky to wick - 22mm
TFV8 RBA - Dual coil only, good performance, suits slightly higher wattages than you specified - 24mm

If you want drop in coils the Arco 2 is gaining in popularity. The eleaf Ello is a good tank, flavorful, good coil options, and doesn’t leak. Coil life is good and no spit back. I know the Ello isn't loud, not sure about the Arco 2. The Ello mini X has 6ml capacity I believe.

@the wind: lol yes losing stuff gets in the way of using it. leaving cigs lying around, dropping them etc. my brain thinks anything giving nicotine is like a cigarette and disposable. other vapers i know don't have that problem. none of my pockexes died, but i'm on my fourth in dunno 10 months, it's shameful (and expensive!).

@sonicbomb: fair... the long-term details prob won't transfer from one user to another, maybe not even from one tank to the next, identical tank. i'll just have to try. i've read that vaping with rtas is more consistent than premade coils which sounds good, admit it seems too hard.

@Letitia: thanks, good to hear the ello is getting decent feedback. yesterday i found an ikonn total kit for cheap which comes with that tank, it's on the way.

so in addition to the ello xl, i'm trying an isub g and melo 3, all comparing with this loaned cubis 2. i'll try a kanger if i can't get any joy, can't afford any of this so selling those that don't work out (provided i don't LOSE THEM). i'll try to do some reviews pointing out the little details that work for me. so far i'm finding the cubis 2 more satisying than the pockex but it's not as consistent.

many thanks all, have a good one.

I'm curious about the battery doors on the ikonn.looks like the weak link on the pico's big brother.
Meg has no problem with her batt door. She's had hers since the kit came out. She is not very careful with her gear, so if it holds up with her should be good for most people.

I've had no problems with mine.

The only real weakness is that the screen is dimmer than the Pico. It's practically invisible in direct sun. Other than that, it's a great mod. It has the same nearly indestructible finish that the Pico does. I like the fire bar vis-a-vis the fire button. Make a fist and vape. No button huntin'.

I'm probably getting another two battery mod soon and if I go "mehhh" on the squonking experiment, it's between the Ikonn, the Invoke or another Battlestar.

Hands down the Zephyrus V2 with the .30 Ohm head from your description is exactly what you are looking for. I vape it at .20Ohm and it provides uber flavor. Never spits, leaks etc...

The only area where it doesn't meet your criteria is that it's only .22mm. but it holds 6ml!

This is to a link that I just posted about a closeout going on. Even at full price this tank rocks.

I think I'm in the same boat as you. I vape DTL around 30 watts and get tons of flooding and spit back with the Baby Beasts, Cletos and Super tanks of the world.
I really like the Vaporesso ESTOC and Veco tanks.... own 6 of them now. Perfect for 25 - 35 watts with absolutely no spit back or leaking, and I carry in my pocket all day. Better flavour than the Melo (especially with ceramic coils). Cheap tanks and they both use the same cheap EUC coils.
