Tank or coil responsible?

I'm a little confused. I have read about and personally had numerous issues with wicking and gurgling with various protanks, yet only have had minor issues with the evods. They both use the same heads, and wicking seems like a coil specific issue that would have nothing to do with the tank.

I've since switched to the davides with the aspire heads and have had zero issues. But I've read about a number of people using protank heads in the Davide and again having no issues.

So I guess my question is why would I have so much trouble with the heads in the protank but then take that same head and put it in another tank and it works fine? How does the tank have anything to do with wicking or dry burning?

Air.
Airflow and tank pressure can cause different behavior. Yes, the coil/wick burns the juice the same, but amount of juice and air coming into the atomizer head can differ based on the tank design. Some of ProTanks tend to draw majority of air through the center tube instead of intended side holes. If you can get $6 AeroTank base, use that. So many great feedback about that base. Also, I am really enjoying that base and replaced all mine.

Restricting air flow increase the vacuum and draws more liquid to the coil, if you increase the vacuum in the tank beyond that necessary to adequately supply liquid to the coil you risk flooding/gurgling. Increasing air flow reduces vacuum stops flooding, increasing airflow beyond that which is necessary to stop the hurling will result in starving the coil and producing dry/burnt hits.

I agree that the airflow controller off the Aerotank is the cure for the Protank II.

In some cases it is the silicon insulator on the Protank that can bulge out causing air flow issues.

Awesome. Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks so much. I'm gonna get a new base. It's been bugging me that I have an empty PT2 sitting around. Not sure about the mini PT2s I have. They don't really have the burning issue but they do hey gurgly at times. Mostly when the tank gets low or when I come in from the cold. Which I know is pressure related. They do have a different flavor though.
