Hi, Nice Moon People. :)

I've ordered my Mini - YAY - and am whiling away the waiting time by window shopping for spiffy new tanks. So! I need great suggestions and the sage advice of the experts.

What kinds of tanks are working best for you right now? At what resistance? What do you like best in terms of style, ruggedness, ease of operation, and all that kinda stuff?

I'm a relative newbie to all this, and I'm still slightly amazed at just how much vaping gear there really is on this planet. Holy cats!

One of the things I like about the Saber Touch is lots of tanks look great on them. They remind me of Roman pedestals or pillars with the tanks on top. I've been sticking to glass tanks lately, and have used Phiniacs and Triple V Pyrex Tanks on my Sabers.

Tell you what...
A company in China sent me some samples out of the blue! They are the tanks for the Egos. The clearomizers are called CE5, with long wicks and round tips.
I got some adapters for them to fit onto a Saber (510 battery to ego atomizer). I'm so surprised how well they work. You fill them from the top and never leaks! I holds about 1.2mls of juice. I'm not sure what the ohms are yet, but I went ahead and ordered a bunch for myself... LR ones... 1.8 and 2.4 ohms. The 1.8 should work great on the Mini!
I just wanted to through that in!

I'm still saving up pennies for the Saber of my dreams, but in the meantime I've been using the new Vivi Nova v2.5 clearomizer tanks. They're really cheap ($10-$15 with $2-$3 replacement heads -- three are included with the kit), they look good, they give great flavor, they're easy to clean and maintain, and I've been using them steadily for weeks and have yet to have a leak. I bet they'd be great on your new Saber! That's what I plan to use on mine when that blessed day arrives.

For me, I normally vape at 3.7v. I normally use a LR somewhere between 1.8-2.4ohms. At 1.8ohms, it gives me a great vape as if it were much higher voltage.
Okay, great!

It sounds like you guys are using low but not super-duper low resistance, which certainly seems reasonable.

Slightly OT, but is there some rule about what range a carto marked "LR" should fall into? I see some listed at ohms well below 1.5, which seems really, REALLY low, and I'm slightly puzzled about this whole thing.

Basically tanks are just a reflection of yourself. So many options now a days that anyone can find a style that suits them:) It all boils down to what you put inside those tanks:blink: Might I chime in here and suggest IKV platnium LR's? Exceptional inside of a phiniac or any other tank for that matter. Then there has to be my ALL time FAVE, The IKV 801 Fusion!! The most flavorful carto that fits in a tank, IMHO, and which I use EVERY SINGLE DAY in a M1A1 for work!!. Only thing is, you need an adapter and the fusion already has the connector farther down than the bottom of the tank so it looks a lil' off:ohmy: Now there's also this whole rebuildable craze(which currently got's a hold of me:facepalm:) Which has many styles and options, and now with China making them, GREAT prices!! To bad they dont have a china model for my Latest obsession, The Cobra:w00t: So kroptkin, my suggestion would be look around, find something that you really like and VAPE ON:)

Forgot to mention, Glad to have you on the Moon!!

I myself use 1.8ohm 901 Atty's when using straight 3.7 power on my Sabers, any ohm 901 when using a kick in my Sabers, and will stick to LR 2.0 carto's in a Tank on my Sabers.

1.5 to 2.0 is what should be "Classified" as Low Resistance(LR) I have not seen anything lower than that(unless I make it myself and have to use a kick to regulate it:laugh:) 1.5's though are a lil' to hot on my throat and don't allow optimal flavor due to high heat IMHO:)

Thank you, Mr. Skull. :) Every bit of advice is very helpful.

I ended up ordering one of these sturdy-looking amber-n-chrome tanks ----> New! Pyrex Glass Tanks For Your Ecig <---- and I did try to stay kinda within that ohm range.

These guys offer 7 (yes, seven) carto options when ordering - single coil, double coil, one hole punched, three holes punched, various resistances - and I was utterly baffled, so I bought a single coil and a double coil, and I'll see which I like best. Perhaps after that I'll try your Iken-things.

Who knew it would all be so bizarrely complicated!

Thanks! I think so too.

:)

And that's one of the things I really like about the whole idea of Vapor Moon. By providing all sorts of different end-caps and materials and so on, Sir L makes it possible for Saber users to create a whole bunch of completely different looks in their PVs.

I read all through that long thread with pictures of everybody's set-ups, and it was really striking! One person's stuff looks kind of Art Deco, and another person's looks sort of Goth, and somebody else's looks very Modernist and streamlined. (Mine will, I hope, look very old-fashioned and functional.) That's neat!

Can you imagine how cool it would be if cars and clothes and kitchen appliances could be ordered this way? Gosh.

Please be sure to add to the thread when yours comes in kroptkin:) All Sabers are works of art, and us Moon Dwellers love seeing each and every one of these Masterpieces.

Hello Kropotkin
I just wanted to ring in on the Phiniac and the Vivi. I think the simplicity of a carto in a tank is my favorite. Only thing I suggest is getting a good carto punch, may I suggest the carto punch over at Phiniac :V2 Cartomizer Punch - Phiniac Rugged Pyrex Glass Tanks
Than the next needed item would be the "slap your mama" tool Delrin Slap Yo' Mama Multi-Purpose Adapter [SYMD] - $7.99 : Big Daddy Vapor

Those are a big help and will save you alot of time and possible frustrations when learning the way of the carto and tank.

If you want to get a real good carto punch that is much more precise and will not dull as quickly I suggest this, I wish I had gone straight to it before. :Aluminium Cartomizer Punch V4 - Cartomizers/Tanks - Accessories, its expensive and there is another out there by someone else for the same price, but the screw is cobalt and VIP is the originator of this type of carto punch.

For cartos I suggest getting them at Stormys vapor cellar, they have the 510D which seem to be consistently better, or Vapor Beast for a larger order.

Look up how to videos on youtube especially Pbusardo for the Phiniac review and how to fill , punch and tips on cartomizers.

As far as the Vivi Nova it is wonderful also, Its just has a a bit more of a learning curve because its an atomizer. PBusardo also has some good reviews and how to videos on the Vivi nova. It will also be less costly as all you need to do is buy the Nova and some extra heads and fill. There is a breaking in period, as with all attiys. Buy some cheap juice, or some plain Vg and Pg to practice with, it doesnt taste bad, and believe me, when I was learning to work with the Phiniac and the Vivi I wasted about 30-50 mls of juice. But I am clumsy.
