Hope maybe to take some learning curve out of the process. So far, I bought and returned a Blu kit, bought and kept an Ego and a 510 kit, for me and my wife. We like the battery life we get out of the new Joytech stuff, and it came with a bunch of modification stuff. I have settled into using the Ego's, she likes the 510's. We both use 510 Low Resistance atomizers, with cartridges. I use the blue foam for cart filler, works well for wicking. I also got a tank system for both the Ego and 510, but neither of us like the tank systems. Too much air, we get better hits off of the 2 piece atomizers and cartridges. Without spending a ton more money, is there suck a thing as a tank system that hits and produces vapor like the 2 piece atty and cart system we use now? It is a pain in the .... refilling the cart all the time, so I would like the convenience of the tank system, but like I said, the Ego and 510 tank systems both have too much air for a good hit. Is there anu system we could use with the Joytech batteries we already have and like? Any and all suggestions would be appreciated. Don't want to spend the next month on the learning curve all over again, it gets expensive and time consuming. Thank you in advance!

Over the past three weeks i've tried the Ego-C Tank system, B-type atty with cartridges, Ce4's, dual coil cartomizers, and a vivi nova.

Ego-C tank system - ...... not even going to comment
Ce4 - burnt taste within 20 minutes... blah
B-type atty with cartridges - Not bad, good hit but the flavor seems to change over time in these. (I have not tried the blue foam filler)

The dual coil cartomizers are fool proof and work great. The ones i had held roughly 4ml of juice and the taste was great. They are the SmokTech 1.7 dual coils. At roughly $2.50 each they are a strong favirote. But, I was fairly sure i was done searching for my preferred setup until my vivi nova showed up...

The vivi nova is a tank style similiar to the Ce4 but it actually works. With the 1.8ohm head it hits good, good vapor, and cheap on replacement heads. I've seen several complaints of leakage and such but i've had no problems so far. I have the 3.5ml and it's a hair big for an ego style battery (to wide) but works fine. I'm ordering a 2ml tomorrow to use when i'm out and i'll use the 3.5ml when i'm at home. They cost $10-15 and the replacement heads run $2.50-3.

If you decided to go this route make sure you get the vivi nova V3. I know hoosier ecig's carries them.

Also, the vivi nova for some reason does not like to let go of a menthol flavor... i would recommend a stand alone head for menthol.

Welcome , but atty's and carts , are the worst you can use . Either get some LR (low resitance ) carto's ( Boge's or smoketek's , come to mind ) or even try a mini Vivi-Nova on the Ego , Sort of an atty / tank sort of thing . Very popular these days . They work pretty good , and are fairly cheap . They hold about 1 1/2 ml. of juice . They also are the same size as an Ego , so they look good together . For your wife , and her 510's , just drop the atty/cart thing , and go with some LR carto's . Good luck .

thanks for the breakdown, I really appreciate it. I finally have a system that let me kick the smokes all together, so I couldn't be happier, unless of course, I can get the same "hit" without having to refill all day long. Luckily I work out of the house, so it's not a deal breaker, but I am going to wait until I get more feedback here before "investing" more cash into my set up. This whole vaping gig has already saved us money over what smokes cost, so I am ahead of the game, but reluctant to buy something that isn't "better" than our setup now. I'll read everything I can on this thread before I make a decision. THANKS!!!

Hi!

Unfortunately, you've walked right into the learning curve. There are a lot of options, but it comes down to personal taste.

There are cartomizers, which are a one piece atty & combo combined (this is just one example): ReJuvenator Mega XL 1.7 ohm low resistance cartomizer

Clearomizers, which hold more juice: 1.6ml Long Wick CE4 Clearomizer for 510/eGo, round tip, 2.1-2.4 ohm (not Vision) (you can get rebuildable ones too)

Mini (or regular sized) vivi novas, which hold even more juice and have replaceable heads: Vision Mini Vivi Nova 2.5ml Tank Clearomizer V3 - 510/eGo Compatible, Replaceable/Rebuildable Coils - Clear

Cartos (as above) in tanks (this is a dual coil, but there are single coils too): Dual Coil 510 Tank Cartomizer

This is super, super basic off the top of my head. I'm sure others will ring in. It is a learning curve...

ETA: I type too slowly
It does come down to personal taste though, I like the CE4 clearos.

out of all of them, thanks for ALL the info, I appreciate it, which one gives the closest approximation to the hit I like using the 2 piece atty and cart? the least amount of air. That's the thing I HATE about my ego and 510 tank systems, its just WAY too much air. Batts are greast, tanks...not so much. Thanks again for all the help, it's appreciated.

Ha ha! I just tried a few of my toys -

CE4 clearo had the hardest draw; then a mini nova; then a tank with a Smoktech single coil carto in it; and then the tank with a Boge single coil carto was the lightest/most airy. But those are just what I tried. Everyone's mileage varies.

A 2.0 Ω resistance is OK for an eGo battery. I would NOT use a dual coil, period, your battery can't handle it. I take it you do not have a twist, therefore your battery runs at 3.7 volts. A Vivi Nova with a 1.8 Ω head will work OK. I know it's all a learning curve, but I would look at a cartomizer tank. You can go much longer without refilling. Some people like the Kranger T4, and they're cheap. I've never used one, but may try one soon. Go to Got Vapes and see what they have.

I should have added that. I only linked to the dual coil as an example of what a tank/carto looks like. I couldn't find a picture of a single coil in a tank.

cool. thanks again. if I pick up any of the above mentioned, they marry right up to our 510/ego threading right? i don't need anything but the above mentioned? thanks, have a great night. out.

Yes. The eGo battery has a 510 thread, as does a 510 battery (big surprise! ;))

thrasher - I have some old cartomizers from the blu fiasco, sent the batts back, kept the arts. i have re-injected liquid into them, but it's like the cart doesn't get as hot as the LR atty I use now. will blank carts work better than refilling these used blu carts? thank you.

definitely, i started w V2 akmost the same thing as blu I found they use the cheapest POS carts they had high resistance, burned or clogged quickly etc, even when buying empties you will see variations in quality go slow and search around, and you will find something you really like, when that happens stock up. for the smaller bats stay around 2.4 ohms or less and you should get good results.

THANK you all. I'm new, and learning, just tired of the buy to learn gig. I'm willing, just want to get a good setup. Like I said, what I have now, let me stop using smokes, so I couldn't be happier. I do appreciate you all taking the time to "enlighten" me. Have great night and thank you all again.
just remember to not feel lost and alone anytime help is needed come on back and we will help best we can to answer the questions..VAPE ON!!!
