What do you mean "ribbon"?

No I don't have any if your talking about presents and wrapping paper :p

As Baditude mentioned, flat ribbon Kanthal wire:

Flat Ribbon Kanthal

Finally got some .5 x .1mm ribbon, 5 wraps around something ~2mm should give ya about 1.3-1.4ohm.

Really impressed with the performance.

i built a couple coils for my protanks last night using 400 ss mesh. one thicker (about 3mm) and a smaller 2ish mm. both with 32 awg kanthal a-1. right around 1.6-1.8 on both. the thicker one works fine by itself but seams to taste metallic at times. the smaller one flooded until i put 2 - 1mm silica strands on top. so far i like the smaller coil best. will be trying some ekowool next, then maybe an ekowool sleeved ss mesh wick if i can physically get that done in the small space. will also be trying some ribbon kanthal as well. for the record, i am happy with stock coils as they come from kanger. my goal is to build a coil that costs less and lasts longer. we'll see how the smaller ss mesh holds up.

I have..in fact I have found that if I totally remove the stock flavor wicks and replace it with a 2.5 wick it works well. I have also made the wick longer than it needs to be and wrapped it around the canal. Don't know if that is helping but it seems to

good point about longer wicks, i will have to try that. :toast:
