I use both carto tanks (Liquinator on a Darwin) and carto bottom feeders (Boge Revolution 2.x) regularly, and they both work well for me. The Liquinator thread has dozens of pages of people complaining about them leaking, but this has never been a problem for me, and I use fairly thin 80/20 in it. If the carto is slotted (opposed to punched) I suspect many people did not watch the instructional video, that suggesst assembling the tank around the slots. If you pull the carto out, it looks like it would be easy to cut up the O-rings, giving it a good reason to leak.
The Boge Revolution came with 3 ohm cartos which were completely unsatisfactory for me, 2 ohm ones makes it very good for me. I would say the tank/BF are similar in vaping, except that you have to remember to manually tilt-and-shoot with the Revolution, the tank keeps it wet by itself. The tank gives a little more vapor with the juices I use, it may be being kept wetter, but I also run it a little higher than the BF will run. It worked so well I wound up getting some lower-nic juice. It tasted good, and I was vaping a bit more on it than just plain nic-fix vaping.
The ability to carry 10ml in the BF is a big plus, and it has 1400 mAh batt, so it lasts well. I like that there is no disassembly needed to charge, and it has USB passthrough-style charging.
