Im new to vaping and so glad to finally find something that has worked to stay away from analogs. Going on 3 weeks now and no desire for analogs. I have a simple question though. Why does dripping into a atomizer produce such nice flavor? When I use any type of cartomizer or tank the flavor is muted at any voltage. I have so far tried single and dual coil cartomizers in tanks and standard carts as well. I have tried low ohm and high ohm. Everything I tried has been with a lava tube using fresh protected 18650 batteries. A juice that absolutely rocks dripping into a atomizer tastes bland in a tank at least for me. I tried searching before asking and found no answer to this. I appreciate anyone taking the time to clue me in on this. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'll take a guess and hope someone with more knowledge of this jumps in - Atomizers typically have no wick or filling to hold juice. All you do is coat the coil with a couple drops of juice. The juice is then vaporized directly. I think that the coils are not as wet in cartomizers and clearomizers so a lesser amount of juice is vaporized. It may also have something to do with the coil having to heat more material and somehow hurting the efficiency of vaporizing the surrounding juice.

Congrats on quitting the analogs.

When you drip, you get the juice in its purity. There is nothing to mute the flavor. The next best would be the wicks, because it brings the juice to the atty. the cartos will mute the flavor the most becaus of the poly fill. It sucks up the flavor and also changes it because of the poly. The juice picks up the flavor of the poly to some extent.

Think of the analogs. A filtered cigarette will have a different flavor if you took the filter off

Thanks for both of you answering this. Both answers make total sense. I now understand why people are willing to spend top dollar for a genisis or DID style tank with the SS mesh wick. Got a selection of really nice juices in the mail today. Dripping some of them are amazing, in a tank or carto of any kind some of them taste very plain. My taste is still recovering only been vaping for 3 weeks. That may be part of my problem. Thanks for both of you taking the time to give me a answer.

I have always wondered this too. I love the clear crisp, pure flavor of an atty more than carto's or tanks as well. I have been getting a good response using a technique picked up here in this forum. Since I have invested so much into cartos, flux's, and tanks, I cannot afford to one of the expensive atomizer just now. What I found that works for me is to take a shorty carto and carefully pull some of the filler out wrapped around the center breathing tube. This makes it work more like an atty and you can hold a few more drops and still get a crisp clear vap. I may even try to cut a boge carto down and take all the filler out and use it like an atty. I saw this done on YouTube. Turns out to be a great bargain considering a pack of boge cartos cost about the same price as one atomizer and you get 5 to a pack. That's 5 atty's.
