Some flavorings have alcohol in them, some extracted tobaccos are extracted with alcohol. Take off the caps for a day or two and it will evaporate.

That's what I thought too. I had the one-flavor uncapped for a few days (drip top off) and when it still had the flavor on the exhale, left it off for a few MORE days... no dice. Weird, right?

Artificial flavors are exactly that (artificial) and some people have a more highly refined sense of taste than others. That is the difference between a short order cook in a greasy spoon and a executive chef at a 5 star restaurant.

I wonder if someone makes a Denny's Grand Slam flavor? Mmmmmm.......

On a more serious note, I like vanilla flavors and I have tried 5 different vanillas from 5 different vendors, and guess what? They all tasted different.

I tried for a few days with one too. I let it sit for 2-3 days uncapped, still yucky. Then I put it in an ultrasonic cleaner with a warm water bath for a day. Still no improvement.

Just wanted to add that I agreed with your analogy but had to add to this, having several friends that are chefs. Taste is a part of it but theres quite a bit of skill involved from one to the other as well.

I doubt many short order cooks have the ability to filet and then stuff a delicate fish with herbs without it falling apart or know how to properly fold a cake unless theyve been trained to do so.

Whatever you do don't throw it out... it contains good nic. Buy some flavorings that you think might cover the taste or increase it if that's way it needs to go. Depending on the concentration of the flavoring just add a few drops at a time, steep and see if you or someone in the house likes it. Or what you consider a dud might be just what another one needs and mix them then.

I used to feel just like the OP until one day a strange thing happened to me...I had been vaping a particular juice off and on for a few weeks and one day I noticed a slight strange flavor, the more my brain registered what I thought this flavor was, the stronger it got lol I also realized I had tasted that same flavor the entire time I was vaping it, but it wasn't until my brain connected the dots that it tasted HORRIBLE! I think taste is very subjective and our brains perceive certain flavors or parts of flavors differently and how it is perceived decides if we like it or not. I might taste a juicy sweet apple and you might perceive something in that same flavor as dirty socks and old spice cologne lol Yep, I am convinced, it's all in our heads lol

Edited to say...My cousin told me that her husband ruined her favorite raspberry juice, by telling her it tasted like the urinal deodorant smells in public restrooms and now she gets the same thing from it...I think that should be called suggestive perception :)

My question to that would be - Even though they are all different, do they taste like Vanilla?

If you got a coffee flavor with cream, would you accept being told -taste is subjective- if it taste like soured milk?

Yes. I've actually vaped juice that people used those exact words, "soured milk", but it tasted fine to me.

Now if you got apple that tasted like lemon? No, there's nothing subjective there to me.

A buddy of mine had a favorite coffee juice that he loved. He couldn't understand how I couldn't like it. One day I finally told him "Tastes like burnt popcorn to me!" The next day he called and said "Thanks a lot, now it tastes like burnt popcorn to me too!" LOL. He'd just got a big jug of it in too.

:lol: This is the exact reason I avoid reading reviews on a juice that I know I like!

If anyone has ever vaped Boba's Bounty and then read other peoples' descriptions of it, they would know that taste is definitely subjective. What I get from Boba's (and a lot of other juices) is COMPLETELY different than what other people get out of it.

I think what the OP really wants is for every juice vendor to label their juices according to what it tastes like to the OP. Sorry, but it doesn't work that way. Go create your own juice and call it whatever you like.

Not even close. However I do have a 10ml sample of House on Fire if you would like to pick it up.(free)
And that is not the taste, it is the smell. What is it supposed to be - Caramel Capaccino

Funny People come back at the poster like we are to inexperienced to tell the difference.
I have several flavors I enjoy that were purchased from:
1)Different Venders selling their own mixes
2)each having its own distinct differences
3)each decently reflecting the item being copied
4)acceptable enough to vape

In those same categories I have some that are in little to absolutely no way a reflection of what they were sold as.

ETA - the House on Fire has been smelled by more than 15 people without prior reference - answer is always> smells burnt

I drink and vape Coffees as well as fruits. There are many coffees I just don't like to drink - That is subjective I still can tell by taste, they are Coffee.

I Vape several that are reasonable copies some I like, some I do not re-order - that is Subjective.
If I Vape a coffee and it's Flavor is only Soured milk - That is Poor Quality control, no matter the reputation of the seller.
But guess what everyone says...................

I would never, ever order pre-steeped juices. Taste is subjective, remember? Maybe I like that juice at one week. Maybe two. Maybe the point where I like it most is fresh out of the mailbox.

I do not want some vendor who thinks I want the same juice everyone else does. I buy from vendors who mix to my specs, and I decide how long they need to steep, not some vendor trying to accommodate the lowest common denominator.

I never add extra flavor to my juices. I don't want to be overpowered by them. I tend to like the more subtle ones.

You're making an assumption with both of these that what you want is what everyone else wants, and both of those assumptions are about as wrong as an assumption can get.

You seem to think people who recommend a juice you don't particularly like are "fanbois." I think you've got a pretty strange definition of "fanboi" that seems to mean "anyone who doesn't like the same flavors I do." Not that there aren't a lot of genuine fanbois around, but you may need to kick the ego down a notch if you genuinely believe that nobody out there could possibly like different things than you do.

I'm making the assumption that when someone asks for a really strong flavor and gets directed to a vendor only to get a very subtle flavor that either the definition if strong to these people is different or the vendor just isn't that great.

I like different things so of course I know purple like different things, no ego here all though you may want to take you're hostility down a notch.

As far as our steeped juice, is called delivering a consistent product so that if I recommend it to you, it tastes like I remember it out of the bottle. This doesn't mean it had to be a strong flavor, just a consistent one.

My definition of fanboy is someone who tries a juice and because they like it suddenly everything that vendor makes is recommended to every person they come across. It's a very common theme here that out of no where a new vendor becomes posted in every thread, usually they die off after awhile and a new one comes up. I can name a ton off the top of my head.

Tasty vapor
Freedomsmokeusa
Alien Visions
BWB
Whoever it was that made Bounty Hunter
Mt Baker

Now I'm not saying these are bad vendors or juices but it seems like as soon as the new thing comes in everyone ceases to mention the previous "hot" vendors. I can assure you must of them are just as good as they were before.

My biggest issue and why I call them fanboys or better yet bandwagon fans is that no matter what type of juice you want, the vendor they like makes it. It's almost like it's illegal to publicly not like something.

I know I only order certain types or even certain flavors from each vendor. Some do fruits better, some are tobacco gods, some taste like your grandmas oven on baking days. I still haven't found the perfect juice which is fine that's half the fun of it.

Mixing to your specs beyond VG/PG ratio, flavor added, and nicotine level is called DIY.

Edit: I've had vendors recommended that every single juice I got had a strange undertone. Burnt grass, plastic, powder, alcohol, etc. That's not subjective taste it's a nasty taste.
